On the Twelfth Day of Christmas...

Post by Capt. Sir Dominic Flandry »

On the Twelfth Day of Christmas...

12 years without a Bond movie
11 Eon stooges on MI6 forum
10 embarrassing lines of Tennyson
9 years of Craig ruining Bond
8 classic Bond characters ruined
7 action scenes running through a brick wall
6 ill-fitting suits
5 drinks wobbled by a mirror
4 shitty Craig movies
3 years since Craig made a non-Bond movie
2 shoe lifts
and a free and independent DCINB forum

I love the last line!

MI6 is a Bond forum that is notorious for its sycophancy towards EON, basically acting as embedded reporters, always toeing the official line in exchange for access. Hence the 'stooges" bit.

Yes, EON are the villain of the Bond film and MI6 is the henchman.

DCINB used to have some feuds with MI6. The moderator on the MI6 forum called Benny used to post on her as Captain Nash; he was a bit of a handful!

I think the real MI6 forum closed down a few years ago anyway and the MI6 Community is a new joke forum someone set up

Oh Lord did we ever!
I suppose our more recent members and lurkers have no idea of the close hand to hand combat it used to be here.

A great many of our conduct rules and the way the forum was set up was because of this.

Happy to say even given how bad it used to be we met a few good fellows even given the difference of opinion.

Being a moderator on MI6 (MajorDSmythe), I don't share the animosity any of you might have.

I can't stress this too strongly we made same good friends during that time. People I have respect for. Despite taking the occasional cheap shot at each other. However there were a few rotten apples in the group who made life shall we say interesting.

It is much more relaxed now.

Personally I don't have a grudge or ill will for the MI6 cabal ;)

DCINB always had some feuds with the MI6. But maybe it is a bit different now as they have Daltonite as a moderator!

There is one thing being glossed over. Mi6 moderators let witch hunts to find those who dared to not like Craig.

There was a weird relationship to eon, some people show up approved be people high up there nobody know who or why but they'd be former employees of eon or other close to the power jobs coming to talk down the rebellion.

And there were moderators who made it a personal crusade to hunt down the trouble makers. If you posted here they'd try to figure out who you were at mi6 to give you trouble there

This is 2006-07 Im taking of and the mi6 that exists now is not the same as then. In a lot of ways but there was a really good reason to not have a good opinion of mi6 because of what were probably bad moderators who didn't last six months.
