British scientists hunt for Sir Sean Connery look-alike

London: Scientists are looking for a Sean Connery look-alike, while the actor prepares to celebrate his 80th birthday this summer.

The Royal Society of Chemistry intends to find another ''equally imposing gentlemen who should share the octogenarian limelight''.

The purpose behind the search is to show the importance of British scientific research and development, as it is in peril after December's 600 million-pound science-funding cuts, in improving the health and fitness of the nation.

''It is essential that research continues into many conditions that are part of the nation's health horizon, so the cuts in research funding are potentially damaging to the UK's ability to address diseases of all kinds, including those that afflict the oldest in the community,'' the Telegraph quoted a RSC spokesman as saying.

The man who may match the legendary actor's charm will be rewarded with a collection of the star's films, a designer tracksuit, 300 pounds cash and a 20-year subscription to Chemistry World magazine.

Also he has to pose to replicate the image in which Connery lounges on a jetty with a Louis Vuitton shoulder bag resting at his feet.
