He's very good and totally at ease in the role. TSWLM is a fantastic Bond film, but LALD has the edge for me.Moore wrote:For me TSWLM. Best plot, action scenes, jokes... The best bond film ever, best Moore's performance.

The great thing was he fitted the part like a glove, he played it his own way and didnt imitate Connery he never verbaly ordered a martini shaken not stirred but we are reminded that he still drank them to keep with the things established in previous films. He looked different but he was still the same man. I like the bit in spy when xxx relays past conquests and mentions his wife, Roger played that scene very well.Skywalker wrote:He's very good and totally at ease in the role. Hello everybody! After long brake, caused by problems with the internet, I'm back. Back and ready to restart boring you with my lenghy posts and heretical, odd views on Bond films. I must say that I'm very glad that the Moore section was cerated on the forum. It gives a glimmer of hope that I'm not the only hertic out there.
Now, after this (again) longish introduction let's return to the subject. I think that Sir Roger looked the best in TMWTGG but for his finest hour I'd choose TSWLM. This film is the most glamorous and picturesque in the whole series, it's spectacular, larger than life, maintain the perfect balance between action, comedy and darma, amazing stunts, great dialogues - in other words quintessence of Bond. Sir Roger still looked absolutely great in it (being 49 at the time!) and in my opinion he gave the best performance in his Bond career. It's clearly visible taht he was totally comfortable in the role and was having great fans. So did (and still do) the viewers (at least me).

Thank you Carl! It's a great pleasure to be here with you all again.
Now on the subject: it seems that so far the results of this poll are identcial to Sir Roger's own choices as he claimed that among his films his favourites are TSWLM and LALD (in that order).

I think the Moore fans like him because of his over the top films, and therefore prefer the three camp classics - SWLM, MR, OP. And LALD has a following too. Your average Fleming ponce will cite FYEO as his/her favourite Moore.Skywalker wrote:It's interesting how FYEO has received no votes. Many members consider it to be Sir Roger's finest performance and more in the true style of Fleming.
Bring back Bond!
