James Bond may be a hit with the ladies, but actor Roger Moore claims he’s actually been hit by them.
The 84-year-old former 007 told Piers Morgan’s “Life Stories” show that two of his former wives violently attacked him.
First wife Doorn Van Steyn, an ice skater who Moore married in 1946 at the age of 19, allegedly left him with scars after repeatedly punching and scratching him.
If that wasn’t enough, he says, she punched a doctor that was treating Moore’s injured hand.
[spoil]"It made a change because normally she punched me," Moore is quoted as saying in a transcript of Friday’s telecast obtained by London's Independent. “She would scratch me. She threw a pot of tea at me.
“I'd been sunbathing in the garden, I came up and I'd taken off my pants and I gave her some smart Alec answer and this teapot came hurtling at me. I said, 'right, that's it, I'm leaving'.”
After the couple’s divorce in 1953, Moore didn’t fair much better on his second marriage — to Welsh singer Dorothy Squires.

Moore and his then wife, singer Dorothy Squires at London Airport, United Kingdom in April 1959.
She, too, attacked him after learning of his affair with Italian actress Luisa Mattioli — a stunner he would later make his third wife. (It wouldn’t work out for them either, and Moore went on to be married a fourth time.)
“Dorothy was not happy. She threw a brick through my window,” Moore told Morgan. “She reached through the glass and grabbed my shirt and she cut her arms doing it.
"The police came and they said, 'Madam, you're bleeding' and she said, 'It's my heart that's bleeding'.”
Moore’s first two wives are not around to answer to their lothario ex’s charges. Steyn, whose real name was Lucy Woodard, died in 2010 and Squires passed away in 1998.

Justifiable homicide there. I don't know how I feel about his talking about this after these poor women are dead. Guess it makes a change from Connery's behavior. Love Connery in most everything he did but his behavior with women at times left something to be desired.attacked him after learning of his affair with Italian actress Luisa Mattioli

Sean was mean to one of his ex-wives. Rog was beaten by two of his ex-wives. As for Pierce, he stays loyal to his first wife until her death, and despite his current wife's weight issue, he is still loyal to her.

I watched the Piers Morgan interview with Moore last night. Moore as usual was excellent, top form, extremely likable.
It's also noticable how much praise he has over Daniel Craig as Bond. He practically gushes whenever his name is mentioned. Morgan asked who would win in a fight between all the Bonds, and Moore said it would be Craig or Connery, with Craig coming out on top.
Even Morgan noticed how much Moore likes Craig as Bond, when he was questioning him.

Would DC be allowed to use a step ladder to fight the other Bonds? That doesn't seem fair.

Sir Rog would take out the other Bonds with a few karate chops.

This is the thanks Moore's fans get after spending 30 years defending him he takes a piss on us.The Craig reboot is hostel towards Moore and Moore pisses himself like a mad aunty trying to play kissy face with Craig. When Craig had his arm in sling Moore wanted to take Craig home and nurse him back to health.Wake up Roger this guy is taking a s**t on your legacy. You had fans you old has been you ought to stick up a little for us.The Sweeney wrote:I watched the Piers Morgan interview with Moore last night. Roger wouldn't even have to use karate chops to take out Craig's Bond. All Roger needs to do is act comical. Craig bursts into laughter, and his head explodes.carl stromberg wrote:Sir Rog would take out the other Bonds with a few karate chops.
Roger Moore wins. Flawless victory.
Re: Moore claims he was beaten by two of his former wives
I switched on the TV in my hotel room and thought "Oh, a Roger Moore interview". Listened to Sir Rog talk for a minute or two, then Piers Morgan's mug appeared on screen. I changed the channel pretty sharpish, I'm afraid.
Moore's praise for Craig doesn't ring true for me, I'm afraid. A guy who constantly pushed for more humour in the Bond films and who criticised AVTAK for being too violent thinks CR is the model of how a Bond film should be?

Although I don't share his opinion of Craig's Bond, it still doesn't change the fact that I think Roger Moore is awesome. Roger is just a very kind gentlemen, who rarely makes any negative criticisms of others. He has praised the other Bonds as well. Roger is also one of the Bond actors that people tend to bash a lot, so if he would talk negatively about Craig, it would encourage people to bash him even more. Roger will usually put himself down before he would put down anyone else, and while I don't always agree with it, that's just the way he is. I think Casino Royale is one of those Bond films people are afraid to criticize, because it's so overrated by critics and fans. Roger has made some criticisms about the amount of violence and lack of humour with this new direction, though.Kristatos wrote:I switched on the TV in my hotel room and thought "Oh, a Roger Moore interview". Depending when you were growing up Roger is your Bond, a good friend considers him Bond's Bond.
I don't expect any of the Bonds to attack the others work, its not cool. Then we have Lazenby who proves the point.

Daniel Craig was a laughing stock when he was making Casino Royale so many people felt sorry for him and went over the top with their praise.
I'd be shocked to see Sir Roger criticising Craig's looks or performance as Bond.
