Christopher Wood Dies

Post by commander0077again »

Another sad day. Christopher Wood has died. I was just thinking about his two novelizations of TSWLM and Moonraker, which ably merged the literary Bond with the screen Bond. Out of all the post-Fleming authors (except with the recent Triggermortis) no other writer has come close to the Fleming Touch. Although his novelizations necessarily followed the storyline of the movies, they still left Fleming's Bond almost intact. This was even more remarkable because he was working with the film 007.

Yes, as I recall, his novelisation of Moonraker was better than the film.

RIP

I Still want to find his 007 novelizations of 007 in hardcover. Althou I think they were reprinted recently.
