Can't help but think that this is due to the Assange movie(which his fans will only watch because(let's be honest) Benedict Cumberbatch is in it. )

Does this mean that someone else will produce Bond#24, and recast for the film?

Can't get the link to work on my phone. But I wouldn't be surprised since she turned Bond in to a traitor in spy fall. (Craig going AWOL , even if M shot him on purpose, is still a crime.) candy ass Snowden is perfect to be made a Hollywood hero.

might be but that movie is bombing. Cumberbatch is too good to be wasted in that movie. Assange is a guy who needs to be in jail, and not because of wiki leaks.

I understand why people want to make Heroes of these guys, and the government does a hell of lot more than they want us to know much of it wrong morally and legally. Stuff that makes watergate look tame, but these pukes are not worth a d**n IMO.

Wow, Babs doing a Snowden biopic! Well she's had plenty of practice over the last 6 years making movies about a cross-dressing, homosexual, traitor who hates the west!

Speaking from a writer's perspective (I know that's a pretentious thing to say, given that I've never sold a script, but I'm using the word in the loosest sense of "someone who writes" ) I can see why someone would want to tell Assange's story - and also what a minefield it is. For starters, even Assange's closest associates say he's a hard guy to like, which is something of a problem when you're asking people to spend 2 hours in his company. And because he's such a polarising figure, you'd be constantly walking on eggshells to avoid alienating half the audience. And the film has been criticised for not mentioning the rape allegations against him, but legally speaking, I'd imagine the filmmakers had little choice, since many of those details must surely be sub judice.

Apparently Daniel Craig has already been cast. He's going to play a young rookie Snowden on his first leaking mission.

I thought he was going to play Bradley (later Chelsea) Manning.

Assange must be going bonkers stuck in the Ecuadorian embassy.

I think these work better as television films.

Babs Broccoli to produce Snowden biopic?

Post by Blowfeld »

Great just great. Haven't they shown us enough on how much the hate spies' and spying with QOS.
On the other hand it may never be made with those two in charge. There are at a minimum two other film those two are supposed to make that have yet to see the light of day,

What would be ironic is if Sony has to turn the Snowden pic in to a hit piece like they had to do for Lance Armstrong.

I bet she'll cast an actor that is all wrong for the part. Business as usual, then?
