October 6, 2012 is FBF day. He will lead the insurrection against EON with directive 007 and purge Bond 23 from the minds of the minions who worship DC and restore balance to the force. We are lucky to call him our friend :!:

I knew that would be the answer. What an odd day to declare just over all, they got over a month to pull it off hopefully they've been preparing. Oh and "Harry Saltzman and author Ian Fleming" exist again. Will wonders never cease!!! :D

Funniest thing about the anniversary is for most people in Global James Bond Day it is only 49 years of Bond.

I would think that if they were doing a James Bond day closer to the release date of Spyfail, but maybe that day is 50 years exactly since the first movie?

It's a pity that Daniel Craig's mug will take centre stage.

I hate it how Daniel Craig appears in James Bond books and Bond documentaries as I don't feel his Bond movies are like the others.

As noted in this thread, Oct. 5, 1962 was when Dr. No had its U.K. premier. According to IMDB, the U.K. was the only place that got to see Dr. No in 1962. It didn't begin showing elsewhere in Europe until early 1963:

Funniest thing about the anniversary is for most people in Global James Bond Day it is only 49 years of Bond.

I know some of these events have been in the planning stages for a long time, such as the Bond music program (with Don Black and Vic Flick as guests) in the Los Angeles area on Oct. 5.
