Filming on the new James Bond movie Skyfall was brought to a halt on Saturday (11Feb12) after a stunt driver crashed into an extra.

Dame Judi Dench, who plays the superspy's boss M, was on the London set to film a high-speed chase scene when a car ploughed into a background actor.

The extra, whose name has not been released, was treated at the scene by medics before he was transported to hospital.

A witness tells Britain's The Sun, "All the cars were going full pelt. Judi looked horrified but the man was clearly in good hands. He was taken to hospital as a precaution but he's all right."

Director Sam Mendes called off the shoot, at Millbank in the U.K. capital, for an hour to allow everyone to recover from the shock.

I hope the extra is OK.

So do I, is it standard to go right back to filming after someone is injured? Witnessing a car crash, being in one, is traumatic, something unnatural about watching a fellow human being be so badly hurt.

Well, Mendes gave an hour break, but at the end of the day, "the show must go on". I think he made the right call there.

It was a hour off so the pavement could dry after washing off the blood.
The story makes it sound like it was a bad accident, obviously the car couldn't be reused if it was going " full pelt" whatever full pelt is, if the driver was trying to stop it might be a minor accident new performance cars can stop on a dime. They used to always say stop on a dime as long as I can remember but look at the stats for new high dollar cars they can come to a complete stop quick.

I don't want to laugh about what could be a serious accident but I can help remember use the bumper line from GE. :db5:
