FOR millions of movie-goers Sean Connery, with his sophisticated charm and deadpan wit, will always be the definitive James Bond.
But now film bosses have managed what the combined efforts of all the villains in his seven Bond movies failed to achieve – virtually wiping him out of 007 history.
Sir Sean appears on screen for fewer than five seconds of a 105-second advert for the launch of the Bond films on Blu-ray.
Daniel Craig, wøith just two 007 hits under his belt, gets a whopping 22 seconds, compared with Sir Sean’s “blink and you’ll miss it” moments in the MGM promo. The new boy even gets to deliver the key catchphrase: “The name’s Bond, James Bond”, that, for many, is so closely associated with Connery.
Craig is seen in stunts from Casino Royale and romping with Gemma Arterton in Quantum Of Solace.
Fans need an eagle eye to spot Connery’s moments. They include the side of his face, a flash of him in his Aston Martin in From Russia With Love and a shot of his famous beach scene with Ursula Andress in Dr No.
One fan complained: “Sir Sean made James Bond what it is today and it is appalling that he is treated like a forgotten man on the screen.
“Sir Sean’s films, such as Gold- finger, Diamonds Are Forever, You Only Live Twice and Dr No are the classics of the 007 franchise.”
The apparent snub is the latest twist in a long running wrangle with Bond bosses over the 50th anniversary 007 celebrations. Sir Sean insists he has retired from screen work, but MGM wants him on board to help promote the franchise.
Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan are also glimpsed and there is even a half-second shot of George Lazenby, who starred only in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

Part of the Bond blu-ray story.
"Those were the days when we still associated Bond with suave, old school actors such as Sean Connery and Roger Moore,"

This is an absolute disgrace. How dare they include footage of the first five Bonds! Daniel Craig is the personification of Bond and will Bond for the next 30 years (according to M.G. Wilson) so he should take centre stage.

given so FEW people go and watch a film with D Craig in, Eon have to try and sell him as Bond. As
Most movie audiances don't know who he is. Even after Two Bond films, He's still an Unknown.

Re: Sean Connery snub leaves fans shaken
I think the last dvd set had ad where all the Bonds had their moment but concentrated on Connery. Connery lighting the cig and saying Bond James Bond is how the ad should begin. Questionable to use footage from the worst movie in the series so prominently I thought they were trying to make people forget about Qos not go gawwwd not this s**t again
