John Cleese attacks Craig.

It's not about the height only. It's about the looks, the lack of any charisma, sophistication or style what-so-ever. It's been more than 10 years and I still don't get how anyone thought that would be a good idea.

If Craig had the charisma and acting chops of Humphrey Bogart, he would have a shot. His height is the least of his detracting from the essence of Bond. Start with his (lack of) personality and Bond's height would be around middle ground. Plus, those sausage suits make him look .... what are the words ..... they fail me ...... :cake:

just for the record, in some of Craig's other movies he is passable, but if it seems that sometimes the comments are personal ('big ears, sour puss face'...) these are because of Craig's physical (for one) unsuitability for the role; plus, his characterization of Bond as a boor. Finally, the Daniel Craig in media appearances has not been the classy act of a Pierce Brosnan, and that takes away even more of the fun of Bond. And finally, finally, he doesn't appear to have much respect for the character, it's just a job. Unlike Ben Affleck, who asked the producers if they could give him the batsuit. They offered to sell it. At least he's onboard with his character, with awareness he's portraying an 'icon.' :cake:

I see a similarity between Affleck and Craig. They both seem to have big ego. Craig seems to be ungrateful for the opportunity he got. He seems to think he is too good for Bond because he is all serious and an "artsy" type of actor. Wrong,Mr.Craig,Bond is too good for you not the other way around.

That's the difference between them, though. Affleck does at least seem to be a fan of Batman, if he wants to write, direct and star in a Batman film. He didn't need to be dragged kicking and screaming into the role.

James Bond star Daniel Craig in row with neighbours over 50ft tree

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/01 ... eighbours/
James Bond star Daniel Craig and his actress wife Rachel Weisz are at the centre of a row with their neighbours over a 50ft-tall tree.

The couple, who live in a multi-million pound (£5 million) home in north London, face chopping the large plane tree down after its roots were blamed for causing subsidence to a neighbouring property.

But despite them not challenging an application to fell it, other longstanding neighbours have described the move to destroy the tree as "unforgivable".

What's going on, a tree on Craig's property is causing trouble?
Tree might be able to do this, and can. But a 1850 house has its own troubles. I say any recent construction in the area is more likely to have caused damage to the 1850s house, or possibly the old house itself.
Sounds like they have a old house and found out millionaires live next door so they found someone to write a report blaming Craig's trees.

Maybe Craig got ripped off during his property spending spree with his Bond money.

Have you heard of the iceberg houses where millionaire build several levels underground their houses?

Anyone who can afford to live next door to Dan and Rachel probably isn't short of a few bob themselves.

true. When complaints of this kind come up usually the the people claiming $6 million in damage are inflating the numbers for compensation.
I'd argue more of the 20th century took its toll on the 1850 house than a couple of trees.
My first instinct is Craig is being scammed because they all know how rich he is because he can't help but brag to the press how much he gets for bond.

Might be I'm wrong. I've seen a couple of cases where home owners claim new construction nearby damaged their existing homes. Very rarely is this true, normally the existing houses had issue decades before the new homes were built, but contractors are a nice target with deep pockets

Blofield retires.

Image

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/40378783
Henry Blofeld will retire from BBC Radio's Cricket Test Match Special after 45 years in the commentary box.
The 77-year-old will broadcast on the show for the final time when England host West Indies from 7 September.
The Bond connection is that Henry Blofield's father Thomas Robert Calthorpe Blofeld was at Eton school with Ian Fleming, and Fleming used Blofield's name for his famous villian.
