EDWARD FOX: 'CRAIG IS WRONG FOR BOND'

2007-03-15

http://www.pr-inside.com/fox-craig-is-w ... r66948.htm

British actor EDWARD FOX has blasted casting directors on the latest JAMES BOND movie CASINO ROYALE, because he thinks new 007 DANIEL CRAIG is "utterly wrong" for the part.
THE DAY OF THE JACKAL star, 68, is disgusted by Craig's appearance, and claims a blond spy would never have been approved by Bond creator IAN FLEMING.
He says of Craig, "So ugly! He is utterly wrong for Bond. The opposite of what Fleming intended, and I knew Fleming."

Bit slow on the news there Carl. This was reported on other sites nearly three weeks ago.
No doubt we'll see that the site is endorsed by Edward Fox before long.
Maybe he's a member. :P

Celebrities do sound off concerning other actors. I also don't believe Edward Fox and Daniel were ever engaged/ involved ;)

Funny. When one celebrity praises Craig, the response from the anti Craig brigade is `Ohhh what the hell does Travolta know anyway. His films were crap, he is a God-botherer, etc. etc.'

Yet some old pensioner comes out and says what they want to hear, and the anti brigade suddenly take notice.

Hmmmmmm.......

Only he didn't have a bunch of people cheering with like him besides those on this thread. He was only one voice in this case among a minority. No wonder he sounded cranky.

Oh absolutely! Lazenby said bad things about Brosnan, and I don't believe they were ever engaged either.

To quote Lazenby's opinion on Brozza:

“If Brosnan walked into a room, I doubt anyone would look up. But this is the 1990s and women want a man who shows his feminine side. Pierce definitely has that.”

You are absolutely right, Blowfeld.

And who would have thought one Bond actor would knock another? But I suppose Edward Fox would know more about what attributes are required to play Bond than George Lazenby though, right...?

John Travolta probably knows Daniel Craig and there is a 99% chance that he will work with Craig in the near future. Therefore he is nice to Daniel Craig. Edward Fox - someone who mixes in British upper class circles and knew Fleming - is simply saying the truth: that Craig is too brutish and working-class to be Bond. It's as simple as that.

Craig's 2006 working class muscleman interpretation of Bond seemed to be enjoyed by today's audiences; but it's miles away from Fleming's Bond.

Yeah! That has to be the real reason! Boy, who would have known that "probably" would make such a difference?!

Anyway, do you have something to support that, Capt. Sir Dominic Flandry? I'm really interested. :D

i'm not sure who Edward Fox is.
I do know that I've disliked John Travolta since he left "Welcome Back Kotter". I don't care what his opinion is, positive or negative.

I agree with Paco that Travolta's view is not the most important.

And what are your thoughts on Lazenby's opinion of Brozza...?
George is just giving his view. He always does! George is probably commenting on the metrosexual fashion. I wonder what Lazenby's views on Craig are. Maybe he thinks he is a real man. Maybe he thinks it's a joke that some short ugly actor is Bond.

In response Brosnan said (around that time he went mad after Eon kept trying to publicly humiliate him):

"George is just an angry, old, pissed-off guy. He was never an actor, but some pissed-off Aussie who doesn't know how to show his feminine side. I met him, and he's got that kind of brittle edge to him

CraignotBond has its first celebrity supporter. I think we should contact Mr Fox for an interview. He might expect a fee so we should all chip in. I'll try and sort something out but in the meantime everyone PM me and I'll tell you where you can send my, I mean Mr Fox's money. I expect a big donation from The Sweeney and Captain Nash too.

I can just imagine if Edward Fox had said: "Daniel Craig is a great Bond; I knew Ian Fleming, and he would have loved him". The Sweeney and Captain Nash would have rushed onto DCINB and posted in the news section......

Whether you agree with him or not, the fact that an established actor such as EF has stated his dislike of Craig, shows that opinion on here carries some weight.
“I'd like to thank the Royal Marines for bringing me in like that and scaring the s--- out of me,” Bond Hardman Daniel Craig.
