Having recently read all of Ian Fleming's Bond works, I find myself wanting to read something by Fleming's friend and literary mentor, Raymond Chandler. I've never read any of his work before. Does anyone here have any thoughts on which book would be the best one to start with?

I have not read Chandler in years. I might have to pick one up and give it a go.

You are in for a treat!

Can I suggest the obvious and start with the classic The Big Sleep which is the first Marlowe novel and then you read them in order!
