Star Trek Countdown

Postby FormerBondFan » Sun Apr 26, 2009 6:17 pm

For those who are planning to see Star Trek, I would highly recommend in reading this comic. I bought one at Borders yesterday, and I couldn't put it down after starting on the first page. After finish reading it, I couldn't be more excited in seeing the upcoming prequel.

What I like about this that how it ties the upcoming prequel with the TNG era.

That si what I don't like obout teh reboot. The whole of ST is screwed up. I would hope TNG would be salvaged but the shows were good and the cast can't be replaced.

What is going to happen after teh 3 movies is up, if they are successful. Recasting Cpt Kirk? No. I don't like that as much. We have a Cpt Kirk and he is a good one and he spent his life being Cpt Kirk as the rest of the crew have theirs. It's not like Bond where you can have new actors step in to the same role. We are used to once a actor is cast in Trek they are that character

I'll give it a look if I come across it.
the idea of it reminds of the old DC comics time zero

I read Countdown over the weekend. It was a well crafted story. I would have much preferred this story over the rebooted Star Trek.

I wonder if there should be a miniseries based on Countdown.

Could be a movie. Althou a miniseries would be nice.

The TNG crew deserves a better ending.

I agree. There is easily enough material to stretch the 'Countdown' story in to several movies or a good miniseries.

:?:

When did I prefer CR over anything?

If you mean compared 'reboot' to 'reboot', then hands down Star Trek managed it in a much better, more meaningful way. However I do not think such a reboot was strictly necessary in either case.

Won't be the same without Richard Whitely. Boom boom.
