I read the graphic novel From Hell recently and is was wonderful. Alan Moore is quite a colourful writer and his essays, stories and notes in his graphic novels are fun to read.

Far better than the dreadful movie it spawned.

The movie was dreadful;I know Moore isn't fond of the film version of V For Vendetta, but I actually prefer the movie.

It's better than most adaptations of Moore's work. I still haven't seen Watchmen yet. I was put off by reports that it is far more graphically violent than the comic.

I think they made a few changes for the From Hell film!

V for Vendetta is quite a good film. The book is an absoulute classic and I prefer the 1980's setting.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen didn't do very good. Sean deserves better than this.

I just read that the only adaptation of Alan Moore's work that he has ever praised was an episode of the Justice League cartoon series that was based on his Superman story For the Man Who Has Everything.

Anyone read the comic of The Walking Dead? I skimmed it at the bookstore, they have a big book of some of the issues. It's going to be a TV series soon, thus the reason for the reissue of the comic in one big book.

I'm sure I've heard of the Walking Dead TV series. I need some new US TV shows after Heroes was cancelled and Lost ended!

I've just The Greatest Sci-Fi Movies Never Made by David Hughes which talks about the development of films in famous franchises like Star Trek and Alien and other science films. The films buisness is insane!

The Coming of the Terraphiles, the Doctor Who book by Michael Moorcock. The fact that Who is attracting such stellar talent, with Moorcock writing this and Neil Gaiman penning an episode of the next season, is a very positive sign. The book is more of a Michael Moorcock book that happens to feature The Doctor and Amy than a true Doctor Who book, but it's very entertaining nonetheless. The portrayals of the existing characters are a little "off" - Moorcock had only seen one episode of season five when he wrote it, which obviously wasn't enough to give him the essence of Matt and Karen's performances, and his portrayal of the Judoon doesn't really jive with the way they are portrayed in the show itself. But he is on surer ground when writing the characters he created himself, and the book is at its best when the story concentrates on them.
