I like Thunderball myself - mainly because of the foodie bits at the start!

Best I Flemming Book
My favorite book is You Only Live Twice.
It is a strong follow up to OHMSS. Works well on lots of levels. In some ways it would have been a better story for Fleming to end on instead of MWGG.

Dr No!
I’m going to go with Dr No
comes as no surprise to I’m sure
Just like the villain. He had a cool story and a neat operation. How many other people can cause of death be said death by guano. Never mind don’t wanna know.

Fleming was funnier and funnier with each book, with exception of the last, TMWTGG. OHMSS and YOLT, (written near the end of Fleming's life) portray almost the film Bond - sardonic, wise-cracking. He also seems to be a nice guy; he is never a cold-blooded killer in any of the books.
Of course, it's hard to say what is my most favourite favourite book of all. LALD, Moonraker, Doctor No, Goldfinger, Thunderball.... they all have their moments. On an on, FRWL: you can envision M's grimace on the beautiful girl having a crushon with James. And the other books
But for now, OHMSS and YOLT.

Good short story. Another of Fleming's drug fighting Bond adventures.Moore wrote:I haven't read much but so far I like Risico the best
Risico's basic plot and characters were used in For Your Eyes Only.

Casino Royal was dull. It was his first book and it showed. By the time he got to On Her Majesties Secret Service he was at ease writing Bond. Creating a wonderful story, James Bond in love! Can you imagine! Not one of the other girls ever got close to the way he felt about the Contessa.paco chaos wrote:right now I'm reading Casino Royale, so I'm kinda partial to it. but On Her Majesties Secret Service is quite good.

After Tracy was killed, 007 met Kissy. Lost his memory, but not his sex drive (must be automatic pilot ). I think that he could have had a nice life with Kissy. Should have stayed there, instead of going to Russia. He did leave Kissy and their son there, so there was something to go back to. At the end of TMWTGG, Bond should have retired in Japan, after a few weeps with Mary Goodnight.
