New Book: 007 Globalist Agent Provocteur

Post by gklein »

007 Globalist Agent Provocateur is like no other book on the subject of James Bond!

(This book will be of particular interest to the "Craig Not Bond" contingent.)

The book is available on Amazon in both print and Kindle editions:

Author Gregory Klein brings together an extensive knowledge of Bond, spiritual archetypal mythology (which plays a major role in “Skyfall”), and geopolitics (which plays a major role in all the Bond movies) in an entertaining and informative package. This two-book treatise also contains much extra material. The package is intended to be a spiritual-geopolitical awakening agent for the James Bond fan and includes the following:

Book One: SpyFail -- An Irreverent 007-Part Critical exposition on Skyfall and Bond at 50 for The Discerning 007 Fan with a Pithy Bondian Sense of Humor. This book covers “Skyfall” in detail -- including an extensive exploration of the movie’s story themes.

Mr.Klein, with Bondian Snarkyness, gives Book One the following alternate titles:

THE ANOINTING OF SIR JAMES:
INITIATING THE NEW 007 ORDER
WITH
FRESH KINKS IN THE OLD BOND-AGE ARMOR

A BOURNE-AGAIN BLONDE KNIGHT OF 007 RISES
AS
THE DARK NIGHT SKY FALLS UPON THE SHOW-DOWN
IN
THE DRAGON'S LAIR AT THE OL' BOND MANOR-CASTLE'S CORRAL
WITH
A FINAL “FACE-OFF” INSIDE THE TEMPLE
OF
THE CELTIC 007-SILHOUETTE CULT
DURING
A SPIRIT CONJURING AND BLOOD-OFFERING
UPON
THE ALTAR OF THE ANTI-BOND

DISCOVERING WHAT LIES BENEATH 007
WHILE
HOME ALONE BONDING WITH RAMBO
AND
WATCHING RERUNS OF MACGYVER

THE 007 TRAIN WRECK:
GOING OFF THE RAILS WITH BOND ON A CRAZY GHOST TRAIN

A.K.A.
BACK TO THE FUTURE PART 007:
THAT AMAZING ASTON MARTIN TIME MACHINE
AND
ITS CRYPTIC BOND CLOCK

GOING THE FULL-CIRCLE-OF-DEATH WITH 007:
LIVE AND LET DIE HARD YET AGAIN TOMORROW
WITH
A BOND LICENSE TO KILL ANOTHER YESTERDAY

THE 007-CYPHER'S EXISTENTIAL MID-LIFE CRISIS AT 50:
BOND DISCOVERS THAT HE'S REALLY A SOULLESS AUTOMATON WITHOUT A HEART
WHILE
PURSUING HIS OWN SHADOW
THRU
THE DARK FIRE-MIST OF TIME-TUNNEL SEWERS

“RATS!”
SERVED DEAD ON A PLATE OF STALE BACK-STORY
WITH
A SIDE OF STENCHY PLOT-FAULTS – HOLD THE TASTY SET-PIECES AND
MIXED-GADGET DESSERT TRAY

Book One contains the following chapters:

001 PREFACE, INTRODUCTION AND A SHORT "SKYFALL" OVERVIEW-REVIEW

002 THE 007 FAMILY: MOM, DAD, BROTHER, SISTER, WIZARD, AND MAGIC TOOLS

003 THE BOND MINI-MOVIE: CREDITS ANIMATION, 007 THEME AND TITLE SONG

004 THE OLD REVENGE STORY: IT'S THEMES, SCENES AND FAULT-RIDDEN PLOT
PART ONE: SHANGHAI AND MACAO
TURKISH BEACH TEXTURES
BREAKING AND ENTERING

THE NEW-OLD ISLAND-LAIR

005 THE OLD REVENGE STORY: IT'S THEMES, SCENES AND FAULT-RIDDEN PLOT
PART TWO: LONDON AND SCOTLAND
LONDON CALLING
GOING OFF THE RAILS
BACK TO THE FUTURE
VICTORY OF THE DARK SIDE
REWARDING FAILURE

006 CRAIG AS BOND AND BOND VS. OTHER SPY MOVIES – AND HOW "FIX" 007's “ISSUES”

007 CRITICS' “SKYFALL” REVIEWS, EXPOSITION SUMMARY AND THE DEATH OF 007

Book Two: Detente Indeed! -- Bond as A GeoPolitical Awakening Agent. This book explores each and every James Bond movie in the light of Bond’s GeoPolitics -- and those GeoPolitics are not what you may think.

James Bond Extras -- This section explores the two confused periods in 007 movie history -- the late 60s / early 70s period and the mid 80s period. The section also includes the author’s personal rankings of the major Bond movie elements.

Stealth -- This is an outline for a new super-spy movie script inspired by James Bond but improving upon the 007 standard.

GeoPolitical Supplement -- This deliberately “out-of-place” section is not directly relevant to Bond but is provided to complete the author’s intention of using the 007 movies as a GeoPolitical awakening agent for the Bond fan.

Welcome to the forum. I like the sound of the book and will have a look at the Amazon page and sample.

I had a look at a preview on Amazon. It looks quite interesting, but I think you'd be wise to hire an editor for the 2nd edition. I noticed a lot of typos etc, and I fear it might hurt sales of your book. I'm not trying to be nit-picky, but I do believe that it pays to have a professional-looking product.

Hmm. I'm not sure how there could be typos and errors. I'm an English major, a professional writer with an excellent grasp of the English language, and I write w/spell check turned-on. Could you be more specific?

Perhaps "a lot" is overstating the case. I had another look and only noticed a few (The Coen Brothers' surname misspelled as Cohen on page 25, "Sillouete" on page 71). I think they got magnified in my mind because a couple of them were in chapter headings, and thus reproduced in the table of contents ("Its" written as "It's" in chapter 004, a missing "to" in chapter 006).

I hope the book does not get negative reviews from the Craig fanatics. They are very sensitive about criticism of their hero.

Astroturfing is rife on Amazon. If the book sells well enough to get onto Sony's radar, you can expect a host of 1-star reviews, written by a low-level PR flunky using dozens of sock-puppets.
