Edward Woodward

Was Sir Edward Woodward ever considered for the role of James Bond during his prime? I was watching an episode of the Equalizer on youtube the other day and it made me think he could have pulled it off as James Bond.

Not sure about Bond, but I could see Woodward as M. Or as Mallory in a Daltonised Skyfall (1992), replacing Brown as M.

He is a great actor. What is his most Bond like role - Callan?

I did a Bond related Google search for him and he was linked with the role as M.
Bring back Bond!
