While Ellis isnt at the top of my wishlist hes a solid candidate to me. He looks the part, is pretty unknown not a bad choice at all. I think Lucifer got cancelled so be interesting to see what he does next.
Lucifer is back on now but honestly while the main character was terribly fun in the fist two seasons and Ellis couldn't have been any more perfect for the role season 3 was just a big nothing with corny plot points and bad acting from an already terribly bland main actress. Ellis deserves better.
he could easily play bond

I watched the second series of Westworld and thought Ben Barnes could be Bond.

After having seen him in many things, I'm really convinced Henry Cavill should be our man for the 007th Bond.

Knowing Barbara Broccoli, however, that's not possible. She'll resort to BBC soap actors a la Jack O'Connell or some other Softy McPansy who doesn't remotely resemble the Bond image.

I love Ben Barnes. Never thought he could be Bond tough.
Cavill, as I already said, is a standard good choice for Bond. My other candidates would be Turner, Ellis and (yes) Hiddleston. Even tough he lacks classic Bond looks he has all the other qualities that are needed for Bond such as charm, and sophistication. Not to mention his voice is pretty much 12/10.
P. S Forgot to mention Matthew Goode. Has anyone thought of him? Another Englishman with a voice straight out of heaven.

Matthew Goode was tested for Casino Royale if I remember. I think he might have jinxed his chances a few years ago when he said he didn't like the modern Bond films much.

I can not believe that between Goode and Cavill(even though he was really young at the time) they chose Craig. I mean, that is downright mind boggling.

Other names in the frame at that time appeared to be Sam Worthington (Avatar), Goran Vinjsc (ER), Rupert Friend (Homeland), Alex O'Loughlin (Hawaii 5-0), and Julian Mcmahon (Nip/Tuck) and based on looks Craig was the least Bondish of them all.

Never took liking to Matthew Goode, personally.

Goode easily beats all of these listed. Visnjic would also probably have to try a bit harder with the accent. But then again, that's nothing he wouldn't have been able to overcome.

Cavill as Bond is starting to make a lot of sense at the moment. He's the right age, popular, good in interviews.

When he dropped out of Superman, I did entertain the hope that he'd received a better offer. But the latest press release from EON does seem to indicate that we're stuck with Craig for at least one more film.

Cavill for a 2022 anniversary film would be a nice thought.

https://screenrant.com/james-bond-henry ... iel-craig/
Henry Cavill is reportedly being eyed to be the next James Bond. In 2011, Cavill snagged the highly coveted role of Warner Bros. new Superman, but his superhero career hasn't gone according to plan. After just three appearances, there's been reports that Cavill is ready to leave the role behind. This comes on the heels of him being cast in the lead of Netflix's The Witcher live-action series. While he may have a small screen franchise locked down, another one on the big screen may be headed his way. One of the most talked about potential next roles for Cavill has been James Bond. Daniel Craig currently plays the role for MGM and Eon, but Bond 25 is scheduled to be his final outing. The studios will need someone to replace him eventually, and a new rumor suggests they already have their eyes set on Cavill. Gossip site Crazy Days and Nights shared a blind item rumor last week that a studio was looking to cast a "foreign born former superhero" as a replacement in a long-running franchise. Today, the site revealed what that mystery rumor was about, and it was indeed in regard to Cavill being eyed to be the next Bond.

I'm probably hoping against hope but there's still a flicker of optimism in me that thinks Craig will back out of this movie.

I doubt he will just cause it’s a big payday. But putting another film first makes me think the producers have a out in his contract, of course it won’t happen because of Babs .
No if Craig gets dragged into the me too movie t all bets are off.

Here's another idea:Ioan Gruffudd. I recently watched mini series "Liar" where he starred and he was deliciously charming and attractive(even though he played a psychopath).

He doesn't have that "killer" face, in my opinion. And besides, he's already too old.

I agree he might be too old to start as Bond but...what would exactly define a killer face?

As in he'd look very convincing that he could kill a man. Not psychotic or sociopathic, per se. Just dangerous. Gruffudd doesn't have it, I'm afraid.

I don't know, in "Liar" he played cold and calculating to perfection..
Is Craig still even on to play Bond again? Wasn't there some talk he might back out due to becoming a father?

As long as Babs is around I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever get rid of Craig. She could always do what they did with Peter Cushing in Rogue One. He could be Bond until the end of time! Look at it from Craig's point of view. Who is he without Bond? No one goes to see any of these other films he makes. He'll just be like Timothy Dalton or something. Not a big star. Just an actor who used to play Bond. That's why he's clinging onto this for dear life. He'll never get paydays like this again and he knows it.
