Barbara probably thinks differently because she desperately needs to stay relevant in this overly PC trend. Some people don't get this has nothing to do with racism,it's about the way the character was written.

That's why it's time different people are given control over Bond. People who know how the character works, and not fawn over a "boo" Daniel Craig enunciates like some damned schoolgirl.

I really hope that when this next Craig film has been and gone in 2019 we don't get four years of faffing around wondering if he's coming back again. I know he said this is his last one but he also said years ago he only planned to make three at the most. I think he likes to pretend that Bond is slightly beneath him and that he's doing everyone a great favour by returning but he must know that he's pretty much a nobody again once the Bond gig is gone. All the magazine covers, Bond glamour and interviews will transfer to his successor. He'll be like Timothy Dalton or something. Just someone who used to play Bond in the dim and distant past. Fingers crossed they mark the 2022 anniversary with a new Bond actor.

Looking forward to watching Tom Cullen in both Knightfall and Gunpowder. I think he should be considered for the next Bond.

Well said, James. While the Craig fans everywhere are holding him at a high regard as if he's the messiah of the Bond film series, they can't swallow the fact that he is nothing but a "has been" actor and will be seen as such once he departs from the franchise. Outside Casino Royale, the dreadful Skyfall and to a lesser extent the overrated Layer Cake, nobody has heard of him or seen him in anything. With Craig being a pompous A-hole in real life, as well, I can't picture anybody dying to have him around since he wants to be seen as a "serious actor", selecting his work only to be theater-related while fangirl Babsy Broccoli produces all of them to keep Craig happy. His fans, upon seeing the co-producer credit in the recent Bond film, regard Craig as a thespian and a genius with the control over the films he's given while damning Brosnan when in reality the latter's requests were all vetoed by the producers. Go figure.

I've been in the Craig fanatics' caves recently and I can't wait to see the next Bond coming over and be just like Pierce Brosnan in a 20 year tenure just to screw these people over. And truthfully speaking, I can't see Bond lasting in Eon Productions' hands anymore since they have been chasing the past by making homages to uninspired films of recent repeatedly. The lack of creativity is skyrocketing in their department, the sooner they sell the IP to someone competent, the better.

Craig seems to be a major ego maniac so he likes to think he is all doing us a favor. Whatever makes the man happy I guess. Making another one with him is fantastically pointless since he'll do nothing but a bare minimum(that is staying mildly awake and mumbling his lines). Besides,he doesn't exactly have a presence that makes any movie automatically better. In short, where is Aidan Turner?

Before Daniel Craig agreed to play James Bond again, James Norton was a frontrunner to take over.
The 32-year-old actor now hopes Daniel does "five more movies" so he can keep the rumours at bay.

"It's lovely, wonderful and complimentary to be involved in that conversation but it's just a rumour mill and that's as far as it goes."
But the Bond chat is hardly surprising when you look at James' new drama, McMafia.

The eight-part series sees James play a successful banker who is drawn into his family's Russian underworld - with obvious 007 comparisons.

In episode one, he appears in a tuxedo, mingles with women at a casino, fights bad guys and appears in the sea in some tight trunks.
"I did mention at the time that those scenes would possibly contribute to the [Bond] rumours but McMafia is its own beast.
"I hope Daniel Craig does five more movies and can keep the rumours on himself. I'm a big fan of his and - selfishly - I'd like him to carry on."

Even though his star is on the rise, James says he's "not pining to lose the ability to walk down the street".

With all this madness, James Bond is someone I don't want to be like anymore.

I have my own franchise to worry about, anyway.

60th Anniversary of the Bond movies in 2022, so Craig will have to release one then.

Hopefully (not because I don't like Craig but his time is past) we have a new Bond by then.

That's Babs' dirty plan anyway.

I am hopping that by 2022 we'll have a new Bond. Who the hell would want to see Craig as Bond for THAT long?
Let's hope he'll keep his word and that this truly is his last one. This is five movies too many.

It would be INSANE not to launch the next Bond actor in 2022 for the anniversary. I know Babs can barely contemplate life without Daniel Craig but they have to move on at some point.

If only Barbara steps down as the producer. And her feminist views go away with her.

Cavill is certainly one of the most obvious candidates to take over the role. I would still like for Tom Ellis to get on the run as well.

While Ellis isnt at the top of my wishlist hes a solid candidate to me. He looks the part, is pretty unknown not a bad choice at all. I think Lucifer got cancelled so be interesting to see what he does next.

Lucifer is back on now but honestly while the main character was terribly fun in the fist two seasons and Ellis couldn't have been any more perfect for the role season 3 was just a big nothing with corny plot points and bad acting from an already terribly bland main actress. Ellis deserves better.
