I don't think the title is anything to do with DC. It's for the New Yorker Festival. Here's the link:

Now that I think about it, it's slightly alarming that he's doing a James Bond themed interview. Makes me suspect he's coming back.

It's possible the 'Beyond Bond' tag might mean he's discussing his work away from the Bond series. I wouldn't hold my breath for any clarification.

I wouldn't read too much into it. George Lazenby is still doing Bond-themed interviews....

Didn't know who he was until you posted the name. Looked him up. In some of his pictures he reminds me of a younger Goran Vijnsc who was a potential Bond for Casino Royale. He definately looks the part.

Should we freeze this thread for 10 years while Craig makes another batch of Bonds? :cuss:

Long time no see, lads.

Now that with the jeopardy the Bond franchise has been dragged into with the chaos left with the release of Spectre and the dissatisfaction of the audience due to the imbalanced storytelling and the tone it has taken which seems lost between dimensions, Eon Productions will take a U-turn and go back to the basics, more fun-oriented Bond. And it's likely that Michael G. Wilson might be retiring from his position due to his health problems and Gregg Wilson along with his brother might be replacing him. Barbara had something to bring with Craig and now her proposed story is worn out, she will be taking the back seat and the others will handle the matters in the up and coming few years. A soft reboot is also imminent, leaving the Craig era contained in its own.

Who would be my suggestion for Bond? Watch this:

If Babs doesn't leave, what's the point of following James Bond anymore?

Jamie Bell? Little Elliot? Barbara's taste couldn't possibly get worse. It's a shame if it's true that Theo James tested and it didn't go well. I agree that he gave a Bond vibe in those Hugo Boss ads. AND he's ridiculously good looking. A nice change after a decade of Daniel Craig.
Turner,Cavill or Tom Ellis(currently Lucifer) would all be great choices in my opinion. One just needs to take a look at one scene of Lucifer and see how incredibly charismatic Ellis is.
I wonder, though,if being Superman would prevent Cavill from becoming Bond in a "Superman will not be James Bond and James Bond will not be Superman" sort of way.
That is the reason why I prefer Turner over Cavill now. He needs a big break,a leading role in a blockbuster. I would be glad if Cavill done the tux,I just don't think it's very likely with Superman and everything. Besides, there will always be The Man from U.N.C.L.E

Tom Hiddleston taking rest of 2017 off. A bit suspicious. There is a mod on the Absolutely James Bond who insists he has been cast.

Not sure why taking the rest of 2017 suggests that Tom Hiddleston has become the front runner to become the next Bond. I certainly wouldn't be unhappy if he was named.
The most annoying thing is having no news from an official source. Both Broccoli and Wilson have kept far too quiet for far too long. Very disrespectful to the loyal fans. Cubby would never have treated the fans this way.

It would be so exciting to have a new Bond. Turner or Hiddleston would do.

Not to read too much into this, Daniel had said he hit the gym for a year after getting the job, adding credence to the rumours of 2005 which had Daniel already hired with all the talk of Pierce coming back purposeful misdirection. I would not be shock to have Hiddleston appear this October looking more like Chris Hemsworth with a smiling Broccoli family welcoming him into the fold. Also would not be surprised to have EON film a few sequences in secrecy to help promote their new hire. However for any of this to happen Barbara would have to be over Daniel.

The only official word was from one of MGW's children, which was Daniel is their first choice always! Barbara and MGW may have also given an interview recently which of course they would express their undying devotion to the greatest thespian eva Craig.OMG!

Seemed Sony was putting out rumours of being re-signed as Bond distributors with Daniel coming back to another huge pay hike. This rumour hit twice seemly connecting Sony involvement to Daniels return. Daniel said in later interviews it was all made up and nobody has approached him with such sums involved, he also said nothing was happening on the Bond front, no word, no talks, no plans. Obviously this can change any moment with a single phone call.

However I can't help but be reminded of the lull 2003-2005 where Pierce went from being the only Bond for them (Barbara often referred to him like a bride on her honeymoon) to persona non grata and the worst actor to play 007 with DAD nearly wrecking the franchise.
Another similarity is the actors playing M, Q, and Moneypenny were holding off jobs to keep their schedule clear for Bond hearing no word on future plans.

What will happen remains to be seen but this complete silence gives me the feeling that once again they have no idea what to do next. Barbara perhaps(probably) wants Craig back but hopefully he will not give just so he could get another huge paycheck. And after that fiasco of a last movie the best thing would be to hire a new actor(hopefully Turner or Cavill or someone like that) and stop with that exploring Bond's past and all of the extended family friends and what not.
