Matthew Goode: "I went for it last time and met Barbara (Broccoli-film producer), who was lovely, but she hasn't brought me in THIS time. :007:

So far from "THIS TIME" the only concrete name we've gotten has been Aidan Turner. Who is a great choice. Tom Cullen Dan Stevens and Rupert Friend continue to be my other top choices.

I think Damian Lewis said he has never been asked.

I'm not sure I would like Tom Hiddleston as Bond as I think he has slightly the wrong look.

I would watch him if he was Bond as he is not as crazy as Daniel Craig as Bond..

I've continued to watch every episode of the night mananger and while Hiddlestun is definitely smooth in his character and you can see Bond qualities. I still struggle with how much of that is him and how much of it is character two episodes to go I'm enjoying the series.

A lot of papers are reporting that betting has been suspended on Hiddleston. The Daily Mail claims he has the part (for what's that worth).

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/ar ... b-bag.html

He was apparently seen meeting Sam Mendes and Barbara Broccoli in a hotel. I know Mendes says he isn't directing the next film but with his close links to EON and friendship with BB I suppose it's plausible he's helping them as a consultant to look at actors as they don't have a director yet.

I'll wait for official news before I take any of this seriously but it does seem as though Hiddleston is the clear favourite now. You can imagine BB would like him because he's the sort of luvvie type she'd enjoy hanging around with on set. Personally, I still prefer Turner or Friend, or - at a stretch - Dan Stevens. The 007 buzz on Aidan Turner seems to have fizzled out somewhat.

Not sold on Hiddleston. I'm not sure he looks the part. Maybe if they darkened his hair and gave him a more Bondian haircut (rather than that bouffant he always seems to have). He does have the charm and natural elegance that Craig lacks though.

The Mail has a fairly good track record for Bond stories in the last few years, after a long period of spouting rubbish. This sounds odd, though. The Goat of Mendes is, as far as I'm aware, not involved in the next film in any capacity, so why would he be meeting actors?

Just can't picture Loki as bond, he could look the part if they tried, people assumed Craig would try to look the part and he didn't .
Being part of the marvel universe does he have time to spend a year making bond?

I'm sure they'd be able to work around his schedule somehow. I don't know where people get this idea that being Bond means you can never do anything else. All the other actors have managed to make other movies during their time as Bond.

Well when a actor gets to be big they don't have enough time for everything normally first series to sign them gets priority like jlaw with xmen and hunger games . Craig blame bond for his not getting more jobs , Brosnan and the others kept their calendars open to make bond 21.

But your right there's no reason he can't do both besides eons incompetence

Also why people assume Craig getting a tv series means he's out.

But Craig made lots of other movies. The fact that they all tanked probably has more to do with him not getting more work than his Bond commitments. Loki doesn't actually get that much screen time in the MCU movies, with the possible exception of the first Thor. They could probably film his scenes in a week.

If Craig had got some interesting offers after 2011 he would have done them. I can only think he did not find anything he wanted to do apart from low budget British movies.

Sam Mendes is probably working as an advisor to Barbara Broccoli - for a big fee.

I think it's more likely that the story is bollocks myself.

Aidan Turner would be great, look at him! That is Fleming's Bond.

Would like Cavill too, but he's probably tied into contracts with DC as Superman.

He looks more Bond than Craig, but like Craig himself, he's under 6 feet which doesn't bother Babs.
