Jesse Bradford

Post by Kristatos »

Watched Flags of our Fathers on DVD last night and was struck by how much one of its stars, Jesse Bradford, reminded me of a young Sean Connery, especially in the scenes where he is in civilian clothes. The still photos I've found don't really do the likeness justice, but watch the film and see if you agree. Sadly, he's a septic, and so ineligible to play Bond.

Are you out of your mind Kristatos?
Not only is he American (a big no no for Bond then), but he's only 5'8"!

I did mention that in my original post.

Snap.
So did I.
Wow that's weird!

Come on Kristatos lighten up, I haven't seen Jesse Bradford in anything and can't comment on his likeness to Connery.
I was saying he's not a suitable Bond.

I agree. If only he was Scottish and a bit taller.

Why can't an American play Bond?

He's a little bit too short to be James Bond.

A US James Bond would not matter as most movie actors can do accents.

Well maybe it's just me, but the actor playing Bond should be British, or a come from a Commonwealth country.
I don't think an Ameican actor could get the British idiom right too play Bond. Have you seen the James Brolin screentest from OP?

It's not just you. I believe it is now offical EON policy (though this wasn't always the case...Burt Reynolds, I ask you).

I know that Eon have in the past considered many actors for the role, but in the end seem to go British.
I wonder if that's what cost Goran Visnjic the role?

Well, Visnjic is not only not British, but has a thick accent to boot. I'm amazed he was even considered.
