What could have been: Alexander Siddig, then possible Bond?

Post by stockslivevan »

Recently watched an episode of Star Trek Deep Space Nine and the whole episode is based on Bond. A character named Julian Bashir goes to a holosuite to play the fantasy character but when a computer malfunction occures and the saftey limits are off, he literally has to live through danger with a female russian agent, play baccarat and face an evil genius named Dr. Noah who plans to use lasers to penetrate the earth's core and erupt all the volcanos in the world. Fun episode.

Lesson of the day?

*Bashir, after he shoots Falcon with the champagne bottle*
Julian Bashir: "A lot of kick for a '45 Dom."

And for those who happen to have a height fetish, he's 6 foot tall.

He would have been tolerable, if overly camp.

It was also quite a few years ago and he doesn't look to good now. Not my choice for Bond.

This episode was on Virgin 1 in the UK this evening.

It is a great episode, and he makes a great "Bond"!

Shame they coouldn't have cast a stereotypical Bond and made a stereotypical Bond film last time around - I say including an obligatory anti-Craig statement.
Bring back Bond!
