Gareth Hunt

Post by carl stromberg »

Gareth Hunt was an English actor who made the Bondesque New Avengers in the 1970's alongside Patrick McNee (as John Steed of course) and Joanna Lumley.

Gareth Hunt could have been an ok Bond. Although I think he was one of the few actors not linked to the role!

I remember an episode of the New Avengers set in Paris. What a strange programme that was.

Yes. It was a long time ago. Back in the days when Bond was over 5'8.

Just for a moment there I thought Oscar Wilde had joined the forum.

The New Avengers though. What a strange show that was.

I don't remember ever watching this incarnation of The Avengers. I think the Diana Rigg era would be hard to beat.

I have a fuzzy BBC4 on my freeview box so I'll keep an eye out for this.

Classic episode tonight. Mike Gambit nearly got his head chopped off by the most unconvincing Chinese gangster in television history.
