Robert Downey Jnr

Post by Milton Krest »

Hi

What about Robert Downey Jr as Bond, he was quite suarve in Iron Man. Would an American be accepted as Bond if he perfected the English accent?

I think hed be ok, he certianly wouldnt be any worser than Craig!

I thought the same when I watched Iron Man; although my criteria for a Bond candidate seem to deviate radically from other Bond fans.

It would be cool if Downey does an unofficial Bond.

I could see Robert Downey jnr pulling of a Bond role quite well. He's got the ability to do an English accent and looks the part.
One small problem...http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000375/bio...he's only 5'10".
Shorter than Craig, who at 1 inch less than some of the other Bondian actors is deemed to short by some to play Bond.
I'd like to see Downey jnr in an un-official Bond film. I think he could pull it off.

Yeah he is quite small but hey they could use shoe lifts!

I think he would be good, like i say if the english accent is good, i dont see why an American cant be considered. I presume he will use an eglish accent in the new Sherlock Holmes film so who knows!!

He was very debonoir and suarve in Iron Man and looked very bond like! :D and is expearienced in martial arts which have helped him stay drug free!

There won't be any more unofficial Bonds. EON's court victory over Kevin McClory had already seen to that, and McClory's subsequent death closed off any possibility of an appeal.

Depends who inherits and who is willing to get behind them. Sony was behind McClory before they sold him out. They then bought their way into Bond by buying MGM.

I doubt any thing will happen if it does it will come out of left field.

I don't think Downy had to act much in IM. ;)

For him it was a rehabilitating role.
