Re: Rupert Penry-Jones
He has made a BBC TV adaption of The 39 Steps which will be shown as Christmas. When I first saw a TV trailer for the programme, I thought Penry-Jones was Daniel Craig! Of course Penry-Jones is much more handsome.
Maybe Barbara should consider Penry-Jones.

Spy'd play Bond like a shot
EXCLUSIVE AS SPOOKS STAR RUPERT REVELS IN RIPPING COP ROLE FOR ITV THRILLER WHITECHAPEL, HE REVEALS..
By Amy Nelmes
You would think telly action man Rupert Penry-Jones had done the lot... He's been blown to bits in Spooks, gone to hell and back in The 39 Steps and tomorrow night will be hunting down a mad killer in the gory new ITV drama Whitechapel.
But like most hunky young actors Rupert, 38, dreams of being the ultimate action man- BOND.
Although the current 007 star Daniel Craig, 40, is nowhere near MI6 pensionable age, fresh-faced Rupert would love to step into his shoes.
Rupert's name was mentioned when previous Bond Pierce Brosnan quit the part and he says: "Maybe at the moment I don't look old enough but perhaps I'll get a shot at it when Daniel Craig moves on from the role.
"For a lot of actors, myself included, it's a dream part."

"I can't do that superhero stuff" Daniel Craig

Not for the current incumbent, though.James wrote:"For a lot of actors, myself included, it's a dream part."
"He's the one that doesn't smile" - Queen Elizabeth II on Daniel Craig

He's too good looking, IMO. Babs Broccoli likes her men a bit ugly.

Re: Rupert Penry-Jones
Apologies for dragging this thread up, but I've only now found it.
Rupert Penry-Jones is my choice to take over a.s.a.p.
And for RP-J's first lead Bond Girl (I think she would decline, but if I were in charge of casting, I'd make the offer all the same)...
