Craigs replacement....

Post by Captain Nash »

When it comes time for Daniel Craig to move on and we get a new Bond, what will the many (though not all) members of this forum do if the next Bond is in a similar style to Daniel Craig?
Another boycott?
Another decade of hell?
Obviously that's along way off, but it's something I'd be worried about if I was a naysayer.
That's why I've always accepted all of the actors playing Bond. But enjoyed there performances differently. I'm not saying anyone here is taking this all abit too seriously (so far as the Craig bashing goes) heaven forbid, but he does seem to take some serious flack for stuff out of his control, ie his hair color, height and looks. He can't change that, but he can act, and that has to account for something in the man playing Bond.
I look forward to your thoughts and comments.

Not this again. Yes, he can act, but good actors can be miscast. As for what I'll do if the next Bond actor doesn't look the part of Bond, I'll do what I did in CR - grit my teeth and keep reminding myself that the man up there on the screen is supposed to be James Bond. It shouldn't have to take so much effort, though. I grew up with Roger Moore, but had accepted both Dalton and Brosnan as Bond by the time the main titles rolled on their debut features. With Craig...well, maybe I'll have got used to him by the end of his third feature.

Hope he won't do 3 films... Anyway, I think that next one after him will have to change style of the character that he's creating. Without support of these fans who think Craig is the worst Bond ever it would be hard to be sucessful. Maybe return to sir Roger Moore's style?

Casino Royale, the most successful Bond film since the 60's, and you think your small gang of anti-Craigers suddenly makes Craig not successful..?

Hopefully the next Bond will be a bit taller.

Surely your greivance with Craig's casting must run deeper that that. Is that the only reason you didn't like him as Bond? Because he wasn't tall enough? I have to say, I didn't notice this at all during the film.

It'll be interesting to see how long Craig stays whatever your view of him is.

To paraphrase Bond in YOLT (movie*):

"I used to visit Hawaii. I like spam."

*"I used to be a sailor. I like ships."

What has any of this got to do with Daniel Craigs replacement as James Bond.
What we need is one of these.
