Jason Isaacs

Post by Kiwichris »

After I found out Brosnan wasn't returning as Bond, Jason Isaacs was first on my personal wishlist of actors to be the sixth James Bond. He totally looks the part and is a serious actor who would have treated the character with respect. Does anyone else think he would or wouldn't have been a good Bond?

He also looks a lot like Timothy Dalton, which was another plus in my books!

He is know for playing mostly baddies, however I could see him as the next Dalton.

There is a Facebook page dedicated to drawing attention to him for the 007 role.

I know he is acquainted with Daniel Craig, perhaps a close friend. I have a vague recollection of him praising Daniel and the 'gritty' reboot. Not that I would expect him to be critical especially if he is a friend.

Have you seen him in 'Case Histories'? It's a role I could imagine Timothy Dalton playing.

I know we have talk about Jason as a potential Bond before I can't remember what everybody said, it'd be nice to talk about it some more.

He wouldn't be bad. He is a little old now so I doubt they cast him. I'd like him as m if they recast.

He was one of the ten or so actors who tested for the part in 1994 for GoldenEye. He would have been ok I suppose.

He's played the Brit bad guy in almost every major franchise including the last air bender.
I think he'd be a better bond than Craig but not a better bond than dalton. But I doubt they'll look at him seriously unless they think he looks younger than Craig so why not.

He does have a stereotype for playing villains unfortunately, he does a good job playing them though. There is one show called Case Histories (iirc) where he is an ex-cop turned private detective which is an awesome show. It shows he can hold a main protagonist role.

Hw would have been a solid choice n the 1990s. He is under six feet so maybe that would count against him.
