The Matador

Post by Kristatos »

Saw this the other day on TV. Brosnan's character, a sleazy bisexual hitman, was about as far from Bond as you can get, but his performance in the film made me think that he could have pulled off CR with a non-reboot script. His emotional arc, struggling to balance the demands of his job (and his drink problem) with his desire to become a decent human being, had elements of the CR Bond in it.

Indiana Jones
Star Trek
The Dark Knight Trilogy
Harry Potter
Middle-Earth

I think the Bond "revisionists" are too hard on Brosnan.
Bring back Bond!

He chatted up a guy at the airport and made a remark about the c**k tasting better in Mexico.

Yeah, The Matador was a bi character. But it showed what Brosnan is capable of. Far away from bond as he can get and he did a great job. Gotta wander what he could have done with Bond if they'd let him.
I agree with Kristatos, he could of done the CR with out teh reboot crap.

Chief of Staff, 007's gone round the bend. Says someone's been trying to feed him a poisoned banana. Fellow's lost his nerve. Been in the hospital too long. Better call him home.
