Indiana Jones IV

Post by James »

I'm really looking forward to this despite a slightly negative air from some people due to Ford's age. I think he still looks pretty good.

I'm in the apprehensive bracket. It's not a film I'm looking forward too, because I really think they've left it too long. But I'll still go and see it.
It's Indiana Jones .

I hope it's good. They've been working on the script for some time now, so lets hope they don't drop the ball.

My only concern is that TLC had an ending that would be hard to top.

I think the introduction of his son will be a detriment to the storyline as was a son presented in Superman Returns.Audiences do not want that aspect explored when dealing with an iconic hero's storyline, IMO. I hope Calista Flockhart is left out of the film as well. It will have The Dark Knight, The Incredible Hulk, and Iron Man as competition, therefore the script had better deliver action over a family ties storyline to be successful.

I hope that isn't the case but I agree that Superman Returns made a blunder with the super-kid plotline.

I'm not looking forward to it. But I'll be standing in line unless word of mouth confirm our worst fears.

I don't like the idea of Jones moving past ww2, that's kinda the golden age for action adventures.
Also Ford is too old, Sean looks more like the young hip adventurer now ;)

I wouldn't mind a reboot, well not really a reboot just keep telling the stories with a new actor. Like Nathan Fillion, forget what movie it was, but he can really take a beating. I remember watching him race a bad guy over a pit (and the beating the came afterwords) and thinking “this guy would be great as Indy!”

I'm not sure I'm ready to meet Henry Jones the III, or James Bond Jr for that matter.

Apparently Indy will be up against the Soviets in the 1950s with rumours of Area 51 making an appearance.

Indy with aliens, not artifacts, and a son to boot? Is Spielberg doing Indy's Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind?

From what I can gather the Area 51 sequence may be an action set-piece at the start of the film. Jungle temples and artifacts are also promised.

Area51 is a great piece of American lore, for the X files.. I don't know. If they do Indiana Jones and the Phantom Menace I'm walking out.

It be like Indi going after Betsy Ross and the 1st US flag. Mayve it will work out. The trust Lucas used to have expired half way through attack of the clones ;)

As a Star Wars fan, I assume you know to set your bovine excrement detectors to maximum when reading the Supershadow site, but this news appears to be genuine.

A good find Skywalker, but it doesn't really reveal alot.
I'm still cautious. Especially of the large scale action scenes that will need to be shot with a cgi Indy!!!
After cgi Bond in DAD and cgi Star Wars characters, I'm not thrilled. Part of the magic is doing it for real, and seeing the actor in there too. We'll see, maybe they can pull it off.
At the moment I see this as NSNA, an aging star returning to a role that they're famous and loved for. NSNA may not have been great, but it still made money and the return of Connery was a massive help.
Fingers crossed Indy 4 delivers the goods.

Well I'm sure alot of people already know the news.
Connery will not be coming out of retirement for Indy 4.
http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Movies/ ... index.html

I would've liked him too. I thought the by play between Connery and Ford in TLC was brilliant. But with the introduction of Indy's son ( ) maybe it would've been overkill.
