To me, Good Morning Vietnam is the film that most perfectly encapsulates him. It showcases his move towards more dramatic roles while allowing ample opportunities for the comedy that brought him to fame in the first place.

I haven't seen too many of his films, but having watched a lot of Disney films as a kid, I guess I'll remember Robin Williams most fondly as the Genie in Aladdin.

Must have watched Aladdin hundreds of time when I was a kid. (There was a controversial line in one of the songs I think they pulled it in later tapes)
I think Hook captures his child like nature. He was great in, Jumanji, Good Will hunting and Dead Poets Society. I don't think I've seen Good Morning Vietnam.

Looking back at his movies I will wonder if his manic behavior was a symptom.

Mork and Mindy was a classic. My favourite movie he was in may be Insomnia - but that was not a typical performance.

Mork and Mindy was my introduction to Robin. I wouldn't say I would watch a movie because he was the star it would get my attention thou.

Night at the Museum 3 will be the last new Robin Williams movie I will see. What a strange twist of fate two of the movies stars die before the opening.

Apparently, Mork & Mindy was notorious for sneaking stuff under the radar (a phrase I believe Williams coined). Makes me want to watch it again as an adult, to see all the jokes that went over my head as a kid.

Too tough a choice. I love Aladdin, Good Morning Vietnam, Jumanji. I can see why Good Will Hunting was the role he won an Oscar for, he played it brilliantly. I think in all honesty the role I was most impressed by, was him in One Hour Photo. It really shows that he can play a sombre, serious role effectively. Often comedic actors can pull it off as good if not better than mainstream actors. Jim Carrey in The Truman Show is another example of what I mean.

What is your favorite Robin Williams moive/tv series?

Pierce said some nice things about Robin at the November Man premiere.
At the event, Pierce opened up about the death of his good friend and Mrs Doubtfire co-star Robin Williams.

“It is a deeply sad time for us all on the loss of Robin Williams,” Pierce told Us Weekly. “My first day on set, they said, ‘Do you want to meet Robin?’ I had never met the man, I was so excited. I was so thrilled to have this job in the company of this great star comedian. I walked into the trailer and there was Robin in a pair of Ugg boots, hairy legs, shorts, Hawaiian shirt and hairy chest. That’s how I met Robin Williams, and that’s how I met Mrs Doubtfire. And I had the time of my life. Every day was just sheer magic with the man. His hilarity, his grace, his brilliance of mind and soul. His reverence, sincerity. [It’s a] deep loss.”

“It really has cut deep into all our hearts that he is gone and that he suffered in such pain,” Pierce continued. “He will be loved forever and missed forever.”

I just read a story on an internet forum about Robin Williams. I don't know if it's true or not, but I really hope it is. Apparently, Williams had a clause in his contract that any film or tour that he did had to employ a certain number of suitably qualified homeless people as crew, stage hands etc, in order to give gainful employment to those who needed it most, and help them escape the poverty trap. If it is true, my opinion of him just went up even further.

Like many of you I watched Robin Williams my whole life from Happy Days to Night at the Museum. His death shocked me how could somebody who did so much for so many people fall into such despair.
I don't know what is legacy will ultimately be. Many of the good works he did that nobody realized he was doing are coming to light, this would be a worthy legacy. I hope his comedy continue to bring laughs to those who need them the most and his legacy of charitable work encourages all of us to do just a little more for our fellow man.
