Star Wars Episode VII (and beyond)

Post by Kristatos »

I don't see a separate thread for the forthcoming Star Wars films, so I figured I ought to start one. The latest unconfirmed rumour from Den of Geek is that a lot of stages have been booked at Pinewood for model work, which rather suggests that the new film will emphasise practical effects over CGI. DoG stresses that this has not been officially announced, saying only that it comes from a normally reliable source, but I hope it is true that Ep 7 will have a visual tone closer to the original trilogy than to the glossy, cartoonish prequels.

I hope so. Peter Jackson reinforced the concept with me. Two epic trilogies graced in early 2000s (LOTR & SW) the one that looked the best had built as much of it in the real world as possible. Leaving CGI to fill in the gaps.

This may be wishful thinking but i would love to see Darth Vader's jedi ghost return in the new films, i could see him as some what of a mentor to upcoming jedi or as a companion to the older Luke.

I think that would work better if he hadn't been redeemed at the end of ROTJ. Luke and Vader as competing good and evil mentors to a new generation of Jedi.

The instant redemption always bothered me.

Seeing the ghost of Darth (the original one) at the end of Jedi is the best part of series!

I read that Rogue One is having problems. I think they rushed it out to cash in.

At least they arent rushing with the main episode films. Episode 8 is turning out very good from what ive been hearing about it, more classic characters are set to return.
