Anyone here beside me planning on seeing Harry Potter 7?
Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
I hope to, if I have a job/some money by then.

It's said to be darkest of all Potter installments. But the poster doesn't seem that dark.

The book was pretty dark. I was kind of troubled by the way Harry had toFormerBondFan wrote:It's said to be darkest of all Potter installments. But the poster doesn't seem that dark.

And there's a lot of deaths going on in the book. I assume the movie would get the PG-13 rating.

I'm sure of it. An R-rated Potter film would be commercial suicide.FormerBondFan wrote:And there's a lot of deaths going on in the book. I assume the movie would get the PG-13 rating.

I will be there FBF. I am a huge Potter film fan, never read any of the books, just saw the films, and read the book details on line. When will it be out, part I of the last book?

November 19, 2010 for Part and July 15, 2011 for Part II. And BJ, I would suggest you to read the series from book 1 to book 7.

Too much time required for that. I get the scoop from online condensed details. Green Lantern in FBF's future? It looks good, much better than Hulk.

Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
There's a lot of stuff from books that had to cut out, particularly the last 3 HP installments. I wonder if there will be an extended edition of the HP series, similar to the LOTR trilogy.bjmdds wrote:Too much time required for that. I get the scoop from online condensed details.
Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
I doubt it. The LOTR extended editions were the director's cut of the films, featuring material that was filmed but then cut out for theatrical release. I haven't heard of loads of extra stuff being filmed for the HP movies, other than the deleted scenes on the DVDs. And you couldn't really go back and reshoot, particularly for the early films, given the way the young cast has grown up on film.FormerBondFan wrote:There's a lot of stuff from books that had to cut out, particularly the last 3 HP installments. We are. In a way it is sad to see it drawing to a close but fun to be a part of.

Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
I don't remember if I asked you this, but have you read the books, doc?
Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
I was disappointed by HBP, but I have hopes that DH being in two parts will help offset the fact that Steve Kloves has no idea how to condense the books intelligently, unlike Michael Goldenberg, who adapted OOTP. I wish they'd hired him back for HBP. Kloves' idea of condensing is to make sure that every scene from the books is included, but just skim the surface of each one, so that it makes no sense unless you've read the books and can fill in the gaps yourself.

Though enjoyable, I wish HBP was a little darker and rated PG-13.
