Mr. Beans Holiday (2007)

This is up there as one of the worst movies ever!
The Mr.Bean tv show works because they are short skits that happen quickly. A movie for 90 minutes or more looses that impact and we're left with a few funny scenes and nothing else. By the time we're thirty minutes in, you're bored. Rowan Atkinson is still a very funny man, but the gags are nothing we haven't already seen and the pace is rather slow. I wouldn't even wait for the dvd with this one.

I'll take your word for it, because I struggle with a whole episode of Bean. RA does do a good job and I do find him funny, it's just that it's very repetative.

I prefer him in Blackadder (if one ignores that terrible "special" for the Millennium Dome)

Blackadder is one of the funniest TV shows ever. Much better than Mr Bean.

True. Blackadder is RA's best role.

While on the subject of Bristish comedies, what are the best ever of all time?

For me it would have to be -

Fawlty Towers
Only Fools and Horses
Blackadder
The Office

Ah top picks there The Sweeney.
Though I would include Dads Army into the mix, and even Extras.

Yep, can't fault any of those choices, but I'dd add The Hitchhiker's Guide (the TV, or even better, radio versions, not the crappy movie), Steptoe and Son, Rising Damp and One Foot In The Grave. The Young Ones was also great at the time, but looks rather dated now.

Only fools is probably my favourite commedic program and I'd have to add Benidorm as another.
