This story can be found at Patrick Stewart rules out roles in X-Men: First Class and Doctor WhoPATRICK STEWART has reportedly said he isn't expecting to reprise his role as the telepathic Professor Charles Xavier in the next X-Men movie.
Bryan Singer is directing X-Men: First Class, about Xavier and Magneto's conflicted friendship in their younger days and the founding of the professor's school to help mutant children.
Stewart, 69, was made to appear younger in a short flashback scene in X-Men: The Last Stand, and in a surprise cameo in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, using digital rejuvenation techniques devised by a company called Lola.
Ian McKellen has already said he doesn't expect to appear in First Class because the film will obviously require much younger actors in the main roles. He said: "They can't have someone whose face is as lined as mine any longer."
Digital de-ageing could prove too expensive to apply to actors through an entire movie, so recasting may be under consideration.
According to TrekMovie, Stewart told a Star Trek convention in Australia that he "doesn't expect to be involved" in First Class.
But he added that working on X-Men with McKellen was "one of the best and most fun experiences" he has ever had, and that it was "the best job in the world."
He joked that the studio was instead going to hire eight-year olds for First Class - which may in fact be true in some cases - but added that "working with Ian again would be wonderful."
Stewart was also asked about rumours he would be appearing in an episode of Doctor Who. He said that Hamlet co-star David Tennant had urged him to do a guest spot, but nothing was ever arranged and he felt "that ship has sailed" because Tennant is no longer part of Doctor Who.
There has also been talk that Patrick would have a role in Mad Max 4, which starts filming in the summer, but his publicist later said this was untrue.
Interestingly, Mel Gibson's former lead role in the new Mad Max will be played by Tom Hardy, who portrayed Captain Picard's younger clone Shinzon in Star Trek: Nemesis.

Is it a reboot or are thye just telling the early day stories. Obviously there are problems between Wolverine and X-man, but I don't think they went out to "reboot" it with Wolverine
Chief of Staff, 007's gone round the bend. Says someone's been trying to feed him a poisoned banana. Fellow's lost his nerve. Been in the hospital too long. Better call him home.
