Best actor in any Bond movie.
Who do you think was the best actor in a Bond movie (excluding Bond)?
I watched You Only Live Twice the other night and my vote is for Blofeld Donald Pleasence.
This is based solely on his performance at the end of the movie when the cat he is holding scared by the commotion of the final battle digs in to Pleasence's arm. He never misses a beat and continues to talk calmly.
May not be the best reason to vote for best actor, but it was impressive.
Who is your choice?

I disagree. Although I like Richard Kiel and the character of Jaws, he didn't have hardly any opportunity to act. He based only on his apperance. No wonder why, however.
As for the best actor (actress to be precise) I'd praise Sophie Marceau. There were so many emotions and drama in her portrayal of Elektra.
I like also Robert Carlyle playing Renard in TWINE and Robert Davi (Sanchez in LTK). They fit to their characters perfectly to me.

Are we just talking about their performances in Bond movies, though? Walken's a great actor, but wasted in AVTAK. I could say Peter Sellers, but it wouldn't be because of CR '67.Captain Nash wrote:Christopher Walken spring[s] to mind.

That he's a d**n good actor? I feel the same way. Not taking anything away from Connery, but Shaw stole the scenes in From Russia with Love. I love the way how he's the soft spoken Nash and then BAM suddenly he pistol whips Bond, leaps at the speed of light with his gun focusing on Bond. It's one of the best scenes in the series.FormerBondFan wrote:What makes you think that?Red Grant wrote:Robert Shaw, heck i think he's even a better actor than Connery.

Yeah i liked how he was a complete mute then turns into this charming guy, and finally turns into the intimidating guy, complete 360.
Well to put things in perspective Connery and Shaw are one of my favorite actors as it is, Connery mostly plays in a narrower dynamic even though he takes it by the throttle and really has a presence in that field, but for acting's sakes only, Shaw had a theater background, he showed more range playing good and bad guy interchangeably, and the gray ones too, more of a chameleon.
