Yeah,Vesper in the book seemed scared,and a little bit paranoid and in the end she was a tragic figure. When Vesper died in a movie I thought nothing of it. As much as I do like CR, she is the worst thing in it for me.
She BUTCHERED the Vesper character, she was absolutely inadequate.
I don't like CR and she is one of the many reasons why.
Now,I don't think that was all Eva Green's fault,the script has to do with it but I find EVERYTHING about Vesper from the movie overrated-from the character that was either annoying or bland,performance to her looks.
