Brosnan in TND

Post by Skywalker »

I've always liked Brosnan's portrayal of Bond, but I've just finished watching TND and noticed that Brosnan looked awful in his Navy outfit. I had never noticed it before. In the TSWLM Sir Rog looked the part when donned in his Commander suit.
“I'd like to thank the Royal Marines for bringing me in like that and scaring the s--- out of me,” Bond Hardman Daniel Craig.

I can't say I really noticed. Guess I'll have to watch it again to check it out. I also didn't think Connery wore the naval suit well either (YOLT was it?)

Perhaps Moore suited it best of all. Now, how would Craig look, me wonders......?

Connery wasn't that bad IMO, but Brosnan does look sh*t in his Navy suit.

I was wondering if he was going to pull off some "Officer and Gentleman" moment and carry someone because that's what he looked like: a model posing as a navy officer.

we probably won't see Craig in the Navy suit. I got the impression that Bond doesn't have a naval background anymore, in Casino Royale. or am I mistaken?

You certainly get that impression.

Unfortunate but true. :)

that's too bad. doesn't Great Britain have an equivilant of the US Navy S.E.A.L.S. that they could have Bond attached to? that would be plausible in today's world. I don't mind updating the character as long as you don't stray too far from the background elements that made them unique.

You're mistaken. The dossier on the Sony website still lists him as having served in the Royal Navy, but he is now a veteran of the first Gulf War, rather than World War 2. Many people have taken Vesper's description of him as "an SAS type" literally, hence the misunderstanding.
