This weekend, Green Lantern's light was more red than green, but the comic book adaptation still drew an estimated $52.7 million on approximately 7,200 screens at 3,816 locations.

Green Lantern's start landed behind X-Men: First Class's $55.1 million and Thor's $65.7 million. It was also less than The Incredible Hulk and the two Fantastic Four movies, and the attendance disparity was only greater. Green Lantern's estimated attendance was even lower than Daredevil and Ghost Rider.

3D presentations at 2,711 locations accounted for 45 percent of Green Lantern's gross. The 3D share was close to Kung Fu Panda 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides but down from Thor's 60 percent. Distributor Warner Bros.' exit polling indicated that 64 percent of Green Lantern's audience was male and 63 percent was over 25 years old (19 percent was under 18).

X-Men: First Class ranked fourth with an estimated $11.5 million, which was the lowest-grossing third weekend yet for an X-Men movie. The reboot prequel's tally climbed to $119.9 million in 17 days, also the lowest of the series. What will Roy Rogers Meets The Jetsons wind up doing?

Reading a Sunday paper today.... i saw a UK film review on the 'Green Lantern'....it was given a thumbs down with a 1 star out of 5.
Thats pretty dire!
I don't know anything about this film, but i noticed some of you had been posting about it.

Regarding your list 'BJ' on Daniel Craig films (or is it Danielle Cr-egg ) , i realised i havnt seen most of his non-Bond films.
I thought 'Munich' was a good film, though Eric Bana is the star in that film.
'Lara Croft...Tomb Raider' and 'Road to Perdition' i have seen as well, and they were pretty good.

Has anyone here seen 'The Golden Compass' or 'The Invasion'............i havnt, but then again i dont think
i've missed much. Was 'The Invasion' as bad a film as they said?

It looks like 'Cowboys and Aliens' will be Craigs first big non-Bond film in which he is the top billing star (together with Harrison Ford).
If the film is given a good review, i might go and see it, just to see how Craig carries the film, and how he interacts with another big co-star.

Have been watching lately some Bond reviews and clips of the Bond history on YouTube.
It makes you realise that some magic needs putting back into the series.

If CVA is a hit its all down to Craig, he is doing his Bond, heck it probably it is bond 23 as far as he is concerned.

I agree that the Bond needs a reset. GE felt special so did TLD the rest was fun but not quite as special.

The screenplay is by the writers of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, who are apparently lifelong Muppets fans. Very often, when a franchise gets taken over by the fans, it leads to a marked increase in quality. It happened to Doctor Who, it happened to 2000 AD and I'm hoping one day it will happen to Bond. Probably not while Barbie and Ken are in charge, though.

A fan like Chris Nolan taking charge of a Bond reboot/re-imagining would probably do a solid job, a fan like Mikey G Wilson...... well we all know the problems with Mikey such a shame he is the only hope for getting Bond on it's feet short of an airplane crash.

Chris Nolan helped revived the Bat. And so is J.J. Abrams for Trek (though there are some resistance), and Abrams himself wasn't a Trek fan as a child.

As far as Bond someone COMPETENT who knows what Bond is about should be enough. Is Mikey a fan, though? He seems just as keen on destroying Bond's legacy as his half-sister.

I think the difference with Star Trek is that, pre-Abrams, it was taken over by people whose only real qualification was being Star Trek fans. If they hadn't been writing Star Trek, they probably would have been writing Star Trek fan fiction. Whereas people like Russell T Davies, Jason Segal and Chris Nolan are A-list creative talent who could have their pick of any project they chose. That's the sort of "fan" I'm talking about, not the fanwank brigade.

With lack of news on Bond 23, i have been watching some film documentaries on YouTube regarding the making of various Bond films.
There are many rare video clips and interviews and provide a great deal of insight to the making of these films.
They are very interesting, for example FRWL had a very troubled production, and the stories behind them were as interesting as the film itself.....
Titles start off something like 'Inside - On Her Majestys Secret Service' (this was my favourite making of)
