bjmdds wrote:Shatterhand is a reference to Dr Guntram Shatterhand, who appears in Ian Fleming's 1964 Bond novel, You Only Live Twice. The book follows on directly from Her Majesty's Secret Service, and is very different from the 1967 Sean Connery film of the same name. After the murder of his wife Tracy, the "emotionally traumatized" :hair: 007 is reassigned to Japan. There, he is requested by head of Japan's secret intelligence service to assassinate Shatterhand and his wife, who operate "a politically embarrassing 'Garden of Death'". Bond soon realizes that the pair are actually Tracy's killers, Ernst Stavro Blofeld and Irma Bunt, and secretly turns the mission into one of revenge.

Got to give credit where due BJ, you called it! I imagine they'll keep the name, it shows how "Bond woke" they are referencing a lesser known tidbit of Fleming. Working title or no we now know where Bond 25 is heading right into the shatter! Bad jokes aside, we all knew where this film was going as soon as credits rolled on SPECTRE or should I say OHMSS redux. So Craig will lose the love of his life again and go rogue again tearing off on a vengeance fueled rampage yet again, what's this make 5th time in a row?!

Image EON's website uses this picture for their Bond section. Notice who is placed at the most periphery of the picture from the center with Cr-egg. Broccoli subliminally is distancing Brosnan from the franchise, even in their artwork :!:----------Shatterhand is also a side-scrolling action game for the Nintendo Entertainment System developed by Natsume and published by Jaleco in North America in 1991 and in Europe in 1992. Any news on who might be singing the song? Dua Lipa recently won 2 Grammys and two days ago BRITs, she should be an obvious choice now.
Of course, if Amy were alive she would've been a perfect choice though.

I cannot picture EON using Shatterhand, because it so fanboy over used and well so bad. Then again they do have an affinity choosing rubbish names then making them work. Whatever happened to Risico?

Not yet, that's normally one of the last things to be announced. The movie hasn't even started shooting yet.

With Skyfall they started using one word titles basically. Must have realised how bad of a choice Quantum of Solace was.

Wow, Same reasons I hate Noah. ;) The wannabe John Stewart gag was more entertaining when the entire press core was not trying their hand at it too.

Actually I thought John Oliver does a better job of being funny and getting in the left wing jabs like Jon Stewart did. But then maybe I like Oliver better because he will go after some of the leftist D-bags over military policy. I forgot who it was but they were shocked at the heat they were getting from a funny man in a mock interview, questions and counter points no reporter would dare. Found out later Oliver’s wife served in Iraq and Afghanistan so he had a completely different background to the subject.

As it's Oscar night, and Stanley Donen passed away yesterday, this is a reminder that in 1953's ceremony, Donen's Singing in the Rain wasn't even nominated for Best Picture, while High Noon lost out to The Greatest Show On Earth. Enjoy the ceremony!

I'm hoping Glenn Close finally wins. Either she or Colman.
Roma is nominated for best picture and best foreign film as well. Maybe it will take both.

I presume there will be a press conference soon which will include old waxwork face where the movie title will be announced.

Does eon own shattethand .com ? Any variation of it? If not then no it’s not shatterhand, if they do then it’s strong maybe.

My gut is production is way further behind than they want to let on. Naming the movie may be too far removed from their thoughts right now

Man the oscars are not even in my radar this year. I used to think the award meant something but after years of snubbing movie that actually make cultural
Impacts I’ve lost interest.

I'm watching the red carpet right now and christ, the interviewers could dial back a bit on their fake enthusiasm. Extremely irritating.

Will Shelton Jackson, aka "Spike", Lee get his director's award this year so he can rant racism and anti-Trump rhetoric as a cathartic discharge for the seated crowd of left-wing elitists?--------uodate, they gave Spike's film an award so he could make his speech about 2020 and the opening trio of ladies got political by saying: “So just a quick update in case you’re confused. There is no host tonight, there will be no popular movie category — and Mexico is not paying for the wall,” to an uproarious applause from the crowd. --------Spike Lee was visibly angry when "Green Book" was announced as the winner of best picture at the Oscars, waving his arms in disgust and appearing to try to storm out of the Dolby Theatre before he was stopped at the doors. He returned to his seat when the speeches were over.

According to a recent study at NYU Langone Health, chronic pot smokers (defined as more than 20 days per month) had almost a one out of three chance of developing Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS), an awful condition associated with varying degrees of pain and uncontrolled nausea and vomiting, which can for last several hours :!: :hair: This translates to over 3 million sufferers in the U.S., when you consider the current numbers of chronic pot smokers.

Has anyone read "Forever and a Day"? I just finished it and here are my first impressions:

- This is how you do a Bond prequel - I hate the term "origin story", Bond was newly promoted to Double O status but he is still recognizable as Bond
- Horowitz is not as descriptive a writer as Fleming, you don't get the same visceral sense of place that you did in the originals, however that also means that he does not fall into the travelogue that Fleming's writing sometimes could
- seeing Bond develop or pickup some of his trademarks here is actually very close to Fleming's spirit, as he was always eager to adopt interesting local customs and tastes as his own ( I recommend if you haven't already done so, that you read a Fleming biography (I am partial to the one by Andrew Lycett))
- The climax was both Bondian and a little underwhelming, it is here that Feming's pulse pounding style is most missed
- The plot is a little derivative of one of the films, but for spoilers sake I'll let you discover which one for yourself

Anyways, I would be interested in hearing others thoughts on this book (now I have to go read Casino Royale again!)

Hellllllllllo Irony-Man :!: It's not Tony Stark, it's Irony-Man :!: Welcome back :!: I have not read that book but find your comments on it interesting. Stay in touch more often :!:
Spoiler
Set in the French Riviera in 1950, Bond investigates the killing of the previous man designated 007 and resumes his final mission: determine what's behind the sudden lack of drug activity in the Corsican underworld. He develops his affinity for high-stakes casinos and fine hotels, where he meets Madame Sixtine, a former British operative who leads him to Corsican mob boss Jean-Paul Scipio.
