This drives me crazy. Bond was a naval officer, he would never have been in the SAS, or even the Naval equivalent SBS, but was rather in Naval Intelligence - as was Fleming. The fact that Wilson either doesn't know this or has somehow forgotten it, just increases the credibility gap I have with our current set of producers.

Go back to Fleming, or even the early films, to get an idea of the character. I don't think that's too much to ask.

This is why I never bought Craig as Bond, not so much his choice to portray him as a bad tempered, dour and reluctant "hero" (maybe protagonist is the better word here), but for the filmmakers complete misunderstanding of who the character was and what drove him. It's not that hard. Read the books, and look at how Craig's predecessors on film managed to imbue Bond with subtle character traits that were consistent across all portrayals - duty, friendship, appreciation of the fine details of life, respect for authority (when it matters), and a certain ennui that drove Bond to continue taking missions.

Well said, Irony-man. It's why I'm no longer that bothered about a POC playing Bond. Compared to what they've already done to the character, complaining about a change in skin tone seems like straining on a gnat while swallowing a camel.

Exactly, I want someone with some toughness and some suaveness, with a suggestion of hidden depths. What I always appreciated about Brosnan's Bond was that you could see him thinking and calculating, and you were aware of the conflict within him as to what was the best move for the mission.

BTW, anyone els watching Dr. No this week to honour the anniversary?

Might watch Dr No at some point today. I'm not in the mood to celebrate an anniversary after the character was humilliated and euthanized one year ago, but out of respect for that film's legacy (with didn't last one day after 2002, or 2005 if we count the FRWL video game) I will do.

Here are my two cents. Not everyone will agree with me, I'm afraid, but believe me this express exactly my feeling for today - and the only thing they can do to have me buying a ticket for "Bond 26". Many of you can get past the character's death because it was Craig's Bond and now it'll be rebooted and whatever. But I just can't. I'd want to see that fixed, to have the certitude that my hero didn't die and it was only a moniker using a codename. Never been a fan of the "codename theory", but in this case I'd make a *huge* exception.

Funnier because they relaunched bond as all the things they say are the reason they can’t cast young.
When they cast bond as the young rookie Craig embodied, during the build up they released a new bio, or such for the history of the new rebourne bond, and it listed former SAS, the forum world of bond had a meltdown and it was walked back and removed from online. So they not only ought to know better from spending his entire life on set, but from the fall out last time they recast .

Looking at the Amazon prime bond days teaser with “all the bonds”
Of course Craig is front and center, but I couldn’t figure out what bugged me about it other than Craig.
On the teaser half his face is shaded out , thankfully. But the rest of the bonds faces are either not shaded or very little. Just his face is shaded when it ought to be the rest of him as well.
Knowing Craig’s ego and Babs they probably think shaded faces enhances his gravitas, but it’s kind of a punk move.

In Orthodox icons of the Last Supper, only Judas Iscariot has half his face shaded. The others are illuminated from within by divine light. Just thought I'd throw that in there.

Absolutely spectacular take. Agree with everyone on Wilson's SAS take. He dressed as a Naval Officer in YOLT, TSWLM AND TND. What rubbish.

And I think OHMSS too, which would make Dalton and Craig the only Bonds not to have appeared in naval uniform.

That is how I always envisioned this to go DB. Let the avant-garde genius Broccoli pull a Bobby Ewing from Dallas concept, and have the opening sequence take place at the end of DAD, as if the past 17 years of Cr-egg never happened!

Well, I doubt she'll want to emulate one of the most ridiculed moments in TV history, but I do agree that Bond 26 should be the next film in the series that ran from Dr No to Die Another Day, with Craig as the Kelvin Timeline Bond.

The film Till, directed by Chinonye Chukwu (Clemency), was receiving its world premiere screening Saturday night at the New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center, ”will open people’s eyes,” Broccoli said following a private screening of Till in London this week. ”I pray that people see it,” added the producer who controls Eon Productions, with Michael G. Wilson, home of the James Bond franchise. Broccoli was worried, she said because the racial climate in the United States ”feels worse now than it did 20 years ago. A lot of it is Donald Trump, isn’t it? He’s made it so that people can openly deny this happened.”---------now the celery driven idiot has the derangement? You can see where her thought processes are going forward with HER next Bond.

Teslas, by any chance? I've heard stories of their batteries exploding before.

(NewsNation) — Firefighters in western Florida are responding to numerous calls concerning electric vehicle fires after they’ve been stuck in the flood waters caused by Hurricane Ian, according to a state official.

On Twitter, Jimmy Patronis, Florida’s state fire marshal and chief financial officer, shared videos of fire crews putting out electric vehicle fires. He said when the batteries corrode after contacting salt water, they can start fires that can be difficult to put out.-------just great-----they never tested that in the labs, did they?
