Hugh Jackman actually said Craig was known for stealing roles from other actors?

I'm thinking EON/MGM are using Boyle as a selling point rather than place holder, here's how I see it:

OMG, LOOK WE GOT FAMED DIRECTOR DANNY BOYLE TO CO-WRITE AND DIRECT! and if you like, we have Craig standing by should you want him.

In my opinion the way in which the news and rumors of the respective signings were handled bears me out.

its not uncommon for directors to be associated with a movie like whatshisface and the hobbit but they got peter Jackson back,

There is a term for a director not officially signed but part of the project

It also happens to actors. We hear about so-and-so tied to a film, then for some reason, just bows out and somebody else eventually gets cast. Happened to Dalton for the Christopher Columbus movie he was set to do. I remember he was being touted to star in it, I even saw him on Good Morning America promoting The Rocketeer and he mentioned that he would star in the Columbus movie. In John Glen's autobiography, the director described how this movie was being hyped with a teaser during the Cannes film festival, something about a plane flying overhead, pulling a banner that said, “Timothy Dalton is Christopher Columbus.” Of course, Dalton never did star in the film. Some unknown actor took the role instead. In the Glen biography, you get this impression that Dalton bailed because he didn't like Glen taking the director's chair. (In the chapter on LTK, Glen suggests that Dalton wasn't exactly fond of him.)

In Craig's case, before he made the announcement on that late night talk show, he said on a radio interview something like "no decision has been made at the moment." Then he does make the announcement on, I think it was the Colbert Show, as if he took advantage of the promo he was doing for Logan Loser at the time.

Glen and dalton did have a falling out during LTK he felt glen didn’t care to take the time to think about some of the situations and the problems with the script (cough MGW cough)

JAMES BOND 25 has seen another alleged leak, this time claiming Angelina Jolie is set to play the villain, while Lily James and Dua Lipa are in the running for Daniel Craig’s co-lead. “The co-lead role is not a love interest however, it’s the "co-lead" of the film." :hair: :hair: The leaker added: “Finally, the main villain has been written with Angelina Jolie in mind. I’ve heard this name for a very long while. I never quite trusted it but Boyle has wanted her since day one and it looks as though she's keen. They are now actively courting her and the script is being adjusted accordingly.” ----------------Daniel Craig is expected to make $25 million for his return to the role of James Bond in the upcoming "Bond 25" film, Variety reports :!: :hair: Radar Online reported in August that Sony offered Craig $150 million to star in two more Bond films, but outlets like Vanity Fair quickly threw cold water on that figure. Craig has not confirmed that he'll return for a "sixth" film :!: :hair: :hair: :hair:--------------Dua Lipa is also tipped to pen the next James Bond theme, ranking above Adele and Ed Sheeran for the honor........................so to sum up, Bond 25 will showcase a female villain, a female protege for Bond, a female singer, and an effeminate Q once again surrounding Cr-egg, the emasculated Bond, with probably no beautiful typical Bond girls, and a retread plot most likely. :!:   :Bonk: :Bonk: :Bonk: :Bonk: :Bonk: :Bonk:     -----------as Aidan Turner awaits, unless Cr-egg does a possible "6th" film :!: :!: :!: Things are really looking rosy for this franchise :!: ---NOT :!:

The "Angelina Jolie is playing the villain" story again? Can't they come up with some new material (whoever "they" are; as is so often the case, you haven't credited whatever source you copied and pasted this from).

Will Michael Shannon play the next Bond villain?

On the Tonight Show Monday, the actor responded to rumors that he’s set to star alongside Daniel Craig in his final 007 movie. He didn’t give a definitive yes or no, but he did muse on why people think he would make a great Bond baddie.

“I think this might have something to do with the fact that of all the people I’ve been said I resemble…the one that’s probably at the top is Mr. Richard Kiel who played Jaws in the old-timey James Bond movies,” he told Fallon.

That story about don’t offeting Craig a huge amount to come back is complete BS. Even Craig said it was crap. Right now Sony has nothing to do with bond .
The other stuff about Angelina J is probably crap too.

Maybe he could be Bond as he looks more like Bond than Craig. Craig could play a villain.

I actually think Dua Lipa would be a good choice for a Bond theme. Far better than Ed Sheeran that's for sure who in no way has a voice to do that. Dua Lipa on the pther hand? Could see it.

It's generally considered good netiquette to link to your sources, or at least acknowlege them. The Geek Outpost article does go out of its way to stress that these are just rumours (and I don't believe the Angelina Jolie one in particular, as it is rehashed from the Brosnan era, and she dismissed it herself back then - in fact it was her saying that she would rather play Bond that led to her being cast in the movie Salt).

The Express is ironically less scrupulous. I say "ironically" because it was once a respected newspaper. In fact, it was Bond's choice of paper in the later Fleming books, though I suspect that was a spot of self-promotion on Fleming's part, as Bond started out reading the Times, but switched to the Express when it started running the Bond newspaper strip! These days, however, it's the British equivalent of the National Enquirer or Weekly World News, trading on its former good name whilst dealing in "Elvis found on moon" type nonsense.

Elvis is on the moon!!!! I knew it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree at first blush these seemed logical given the way they were framed in the known narrative Boyle has stated he would follow, but on closer inspection its just a rehash of many well worn threadbare rumors. In reality this seems to be just another bit of fan speculation masquerading as "inside information."

Kris knew where Elvis was all this time and never told us!?

I didn’t recognize all the old rumors but that story seemed to be the best of hits from the last 20 years.

We've had

Casino Royale - regarded as the greatest movie ever made (not by us)
Quantum of Solace - regarded as being awful and a mess
Skyfall - regarded as the greatest movie ever made (not by us)
Spectre - regarded as being awful and a mess

will the next Craig effort follow the pattern?

On the cover of today's Sunday Times, it tells us that Craggy is on this year's Rich List with £125 million. That might refer to net worth, though, in which case the actual amount of money in his bank account is probably considerably less. Hopefully enough to retire on though (please).
