Is Snow in the UK and Europe at this time of year rare?

I can't speak for the whole of Europe, but in the UK, it's not that common. It's not like the Northeastern US, where you're pretty much guaranteed snow every winter. This year was made worse by a combination of a cold east wind from Siberia (the "beast from the east") meeting Atlantic Storm Emma from the west.

There are lots of snowy places I Europe - the alps, Norway etc.

I thought it always snowed in Scotland and northern England every year, but maybe they don't have so much.

I guess that's my southern bias showing. You're right, there's a big difference between the north of Scotland and the south of England, climate-wise.

I’ve thought of the UK and Europe as colder than the northeast U.S.A.. I guess that’s just based on movies of snowy vacation spots

So, does Barbara Ellen think that Bond fans applauded the treatment of Severine in Skyfall? Most I know were horrified by it.

Most 007s fans were rightfully horrified by this scene in Skyfall, it was a result of Barbara and Daniel's bigotry based on what they believe James Bond's attitude towards women to be.

I reckon they might have lifted the line from LTK (Sharkey):

"God, what a terrible waste... Of money."

But they've perverted it -- in the above case the fate was surely more deserved and it wasn't even Bond that said it that time.

I don't really get all the recent hoo-hah about his face. He looked almost, but not quite, entirely unlike Bond before the surgery and he looks almost, but not quite, entirely unlike* Bond now too.

Also, that photo is odd. His eyes look two different colors.

*OK, I'll drop the Douglas Adams quote. It is entirely unlike Bond. Unless you perhaps count that rubber Sean Connery mask after it's been pulled off that guy's face at the Spectre training camp. Actually, have they still got that mask? He could wear it.

I think he looks more unlike Bond now than he did in 2006. In CR he looked like a nightclub bouncer, now he looks like the reason nightclubs employ bouncers in the first place.

When I read CR is a masterpiece that mixed 60's cool Bond with new political something I rolled my eyes so far into my head I could actually see myself think.

The typically liberal ABC brought back “Roseanne” after a 20-year hiatus on Tuesday to a massive audience, with a 5.1 rating in the key demo of adults age 18-49 and 18.1 million viewers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show's star Roseanne Barr revealed to reporters back in January it was important to her to showcase her character as a pro-Trump American. During a recent shareholder meeting for ABC’s parent company, Disney, a frustrated investor told CEO Bob Iger that Disney-owned ESPN had become a “24/7 anti-Trump tirade channel.”
