Maybe that's because in a Bond film, it should be Bond who drives the plot forward.bjmdds wrote:Speaking to The Guardian about the role women will play in the film, Harris said: "In Bond 25 you have four strong, intelligent women who are responsible for driving the plot forward. They’ve never had that in Bond before."

Oh yes "strong intelligent women", that's a new one. We've never heard that before. Except there was some talk about it before Spectre and before Skyfall and before Quantum of Solace and even before Casino Royale and... You get the point.

And then, they wonder why films like Charlie's Angels (2019), Terminator: Dark Fate, Ghostbusters (2016) and all that kind of horse manures are bombing at the box office.
What Harris is instructed to preach is "I'm a woman, hear me roar!" which is an insult to actual strong women.
Wonder Woman came out a couple of years ago and it was said to be told in the "third wave feminist" standards (something I didn't notice), and yet the film was awesome and well received by the audience (those are the only critics that matter). Now, why is that?

In an interview with German site Express, Craig was asked the two big questions – is he really done as Bond? And is he planning on directing? – and gave a couple of very clear answers that don’t leave any room for misinterpretation. Bottom line: he’s definitely ready to hand his Walther PPK over to someone else and is happy to put the Bond franchise behind him Our work is done As Rambo said:

Yup, fingers crossed. He's now done two new interviews where he seems to confirm that this really is the last one.bjmdds wrote:In an interview with German site Express, Craig was asked the two big questions – is he really done as Bond? Asked if this is his last Bond film, Craig said - "Yes. We must be able to give other actors the chance to play Bond, too. (laughs) It may be hard to believe, but I really liked James Bond. It was one of the most intense things I've done it. But it takes a lot of energy. And I'm getting old. My bones are starting to crack."

The Bond chapter is really finished for you?

It's funny, a lot of actors go through a phase of wanting to disassociate from a particular role (Leonard Nimoy with Spock, Tim Curry with Frank N Furter and so on). But it normally happens after they've left the role.Omega wrote:May be hard to believe but I liked janes bond, four movies and 14 years of interviews say otherwise

It seems someone took the strong talking to they got to heart after whining about slashing his wrists in 2015! Maybe the studio tied some money to his positive promotion of the film, or maybe he realizes after this he'll need to re-ingratiate himself to the rest of Hollywood again.

Tim Curry was promoting some charity where you can meet him and he mentioned Frank N Furter quite prominently although I always think of the Wild Thornberrys(he did the voice of the dad)

Yes, but there was a period in the '70s when he refused to talk about The Rocky Horror Picture Show, due to the fear that many actors have of being too closely associated with a single role.kater23 wrote:Tim Curry was promoting some charity where you can meet him and he mentioned Frank N Furter quite prominently although I always think of the Wild Thornberrys(he did the voice of the dad)

I don't really care one way or the other. It doesn't affect Bond any more.

Spielberg revealed when Indiana Jones 5 will be set. Teasing the movie to EMPIRE, he said last year: “I can say that whatever it is, it’s gonna be really good! We’re still working on the story and the script. It’ll be in the sixties.”---------plenty of world politics occurred then. What could they possibly write about?
Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
There are lots of occult-type theories about the Kennedy assassination that could be worked into an Indy plot. Don't know if he'd want to go there, though.bjmdds wrote:Spielberg revealed when Indiana Jones 5 will be set. I think knives out wipe probably flop, but then I thought murder on the Orient express wouldn’t get traction either.
What knives out has against it is the director. I doubt anything much will come of it . Nothing Craig has done outside of bond has any real success.

They touched close to this in the young Indiana Jones chronicles, I removed there being a special show where Harrison Ford came back to the roel to guest star, I want to say it was set in the 60s, could be wrong.Kristatos wrote:There are lots of occult-type theories about the Kennedy assassination that could be worked into an Indy plot. The way the original show had worked is some old Bas***d with a eyepatch and the Indiana Jones fedora would somehow start a rambling story that would cue the flash back for the real story featuring either teenage Indy or ten year old Indy on an adventure. Ford I wanna say took up that role guest staring.
But when Lucas (?) re-edited the shows for dvd release he/they cut out the old man in modern times lecturing kids about the Mata Hari (who IRL might not have been guilty of what she was executed for), anyway editing the shows to be like mini movies was a better show that weird old man Indy muttering on

According to the-numbers.com, it only cost $40 million to make, so I'd be surprised if it didn't turn a profit.Omega wrote:I think knives out wipe probably flop, but then I thought murder on the Orient express wouldn’t get traction either.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Bond blog The Spy Command has spotted some comments made by MGM’s chief operating officer at their quarterly call with investors. Christopher Brearton admitted: “Marketing is slated to swing into high gear early in the New Year. And we couldn’t be more excited about what we have in store for Bond fans around the world." This could mean there won’t be a No Time To Die trailer until 2020.
