Slumdog? I did like his Steve Jobs. I can’t remember if his Frankenstein was good or not.

funny how they trash Brosnan’s era director even for doing the art house crap they say they love.
No way Forrester is not at the bottom of everybody’s list.
Little glad Mendes was not higher.

Top two I agree with a little surprised they didn’t trash second place more, even I can list some serious flaws with his films but they are enjoyable Bond movies through and through.

Do they say they love it? I don't agree with everything in the article, but the writer does seem to appreciate Bond films *as Bond films*, and isn't constantly putting them down for not being something else, the way most critics do.

Scott Mendelson:With word that Danny Boyle (28 Days Later, Slumdog Millionaire, Steve Jobs, etc.) may helm the next 007 movie, we must ask whether that’s a good thing. The very idea of an esteemed and award-winning director playing in the James Bond sandbox is a relatively new one. But with the admittedly limited available evidence, you might argue that the most popular 007 flicks are the ones that come from the straightforward genre filmmakers. But even among the action-centric filmmakers, we have instances where a guy makes one of the great Bond movies and then follows up with one of the worst. History shows that news of Danny Boyle directing a 007 flick should be more exciting to Danny Boyle fans than to 007 fans. :hair:

when they were talking about the DAD director they mention how edgy it was being the director on seem to like his work then trash him for doing it to bond, while forester and Mendes get a pass or more of a pass. I think people forget DAD was supposed to be Bonds answer to the matrix movies stylistically and modernization of the series. CR was eons answer to Bourne. Even later movies were Batman ripoffs.
I admit I only skimmed it so I may be wrong.

The article says that Tamahori "didn't really get Bond" and criticises DAD for being too much like a generic CGI blockbuster. And Forster was 3rd from the bottom, so it's not much of a pass, even if they do call him "a big step up" from Tamahori and Apted.

This is pretty much what I've been saying since Mendes laid the egg we refer to as Skyfall.

That's pretty much what I'm thinking at this point.

Maybe not to you Kris but they certainly come to my mind and I am probably certain to be in the minority on this. I'm by no means a Danny Boyle expert or maybe I'm not even qualified to give an opinion since the only film of his I saw all the way through was Trainspotting and I absolutely hated it. Sure the soundtrack was loud and fast but the film wasn't, I bored to tears and found the characters unlikable with no investment in them. By the time I was half way through I was praying they would hurry up and overdose on china white! As for pompous, to be fair to Danny that emotion was more influenced by the friend who talked me into watching it claiming it was such a great film.

Settlement in the James Bond box set case. If you bought a set saying it had "all" of the 007 movies, you may be able to get digital copies of 1967 Casino Royale and Never Say Never Again.

I was wondering what happened to that lawsuit. I always thought labeling it the complete collection was misleading

That cuts two ways. He hasn't done any action or spy films before, but he's tackled so many other genres, from kids' films to Bollywood, that it's hard to see why he shouldn't add Bond films to the list.

Time’s Up for James Bond? Movie spy’s women will now be written ‘with the modern world in mind’ rather than with ‘silly names and skimpy clothing’ according to new director Danny Boyle

Trainspotting director Danny Boyle has suggested James Bond's old sexist persona may be changed drastically in his next outing.....According to The Telegraph, Boyle will write Bond as a contemporary character with consideration to the Time's Up campaign about sexual harassment in the workplace.

William Shakespeare: "Double, double, Boyle's Bond is so in trouble :!: "...............after what Boyle said, they might as well shut down production :!: FBF, Order 66 is required again :!: Boyle is an idiot who does not belong anywhere near the Bond franchise, and neither does Boar-bara :!:

Boyle's troubled plot will have the current M sexually harass the current Moneypenny, with racial slurs thrown by him against her too, to the point he gets fired at the end of the film, and is replaced by a new female M again, as Cr-egg's Bond is shown as a transvestite in the final scene, unleashing the real James into the world :!: This is where they are headed and it's criminal what they are doing to Fleming's iconic character :!: :hair:

Found out the issues a few weeks ago were the server going off line, noting to do with our software although the forum email sever is not acting right. I'll try to figure this out later.
