My question is whether Sir Roger knows he is the regular punching bag for Craig fans or not. Nice as he is,I can't imagine anyone not even Sir Rog being so positive about an actor whose fans trash him,his movies and his performances on a regular basis.

As for Craig coming back...I have mixed thoughts about this. I am sure Barbara is ready to give him another very nice payday after all he is her pet.
On the other side, his public image is not what it used to be. Before Casino Royale he was not accepted as a new Bond and EON decided to present him as an underdog,a serious actor who just isn't seen as THE great one by the public. Yet.

After Casino Royale he was a serious actor who rescued the whole franchise that was apparently in shambles. That somehow dragged on for quite a while. But last year Craig came out in interviews as a major jerk, thinking even if he threw tantrums like that everyone would still be perfectly happy, because he was drown in his ego.
Not to mentions rumors about him being so ofended because Monica Bellucci didn't wanna sleep with him. Dude you are not Cary Grant. To put it lightly.

Whether he comes back remains to be seen but I am really hoping he is finished. Besides, how do they intend to go on after that chaos of the last movie?I mean,Blofeld being Bond's brother. It was so bad you couldn't even laugh at that idea.Shudders.

Austin powers couldn't manage a come back after they used the story EON stole from them.

This weekend is the 54th anniversary of Ian Fleming's meetings with television producer Norman Felton that led to The Man From UNCLE.

https://hmssweblog.wordpress.com/2016/1 ... niversary/

Ian Fleming's heirs act as if this never happened. Some UNCLE fans downplay Fleming's participation. And, to be clear, others did perform the heavy lifting in bringing UNCLE to television. Still, it's very odd how Fleming's participation (which lasted eight months) is totally forgotten.

Michael Fassbender makes indirect dig at Daniel Craig as he claims he's too old to play James Bond. When quizzed about his interest in the secret agent part in an interview by GQ magazine, he said: "Bond! Is this rumour still going round? You would have thought I was out of the bookies by now."

When pushed on whether he would take the part if offered, he added: "To be honest, no. As an acting role, I think Daniel has done such a cracking job in this age group. Look at me! I look about 50! No, I think the franchise needs something new." Irish/German actor Fassbender said: "Bond should be someone in their early twenties. Maybe someone like Jack O'Connell would be good? One thing is for sure, it won't be anyone on the bookies' lists. It never is."

Speaking with UK’s Talk Radio, Roger Moore said that he would like to see Aidan Turner or Hiddleston take over the role from Daniel Craig. He gushed that both of the stars look very good. Moreover, Roger Moore revealed that he would not want the “females” to play the iconic spy. He said that the film “could have a female, a Jane Bond, but it would have nothing to do with James Bond.” He reiterated that “Bond is Bond.”

Barbara Broccoli, the producer of the film, admitted that she “refuses to think about Bond without Craig” in the role. :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

That's because she thinks Craig is more important, greater than Bond himself.
A person who is in charge of this franchise needs to understand that nothing and nobody is bigger than James Bond. Unfortunately Barbara doesn't understand since she is stuck in her own world where Craig is a demi-god that needs to be worshiped.

Well, to be fair, you can hardly expect her to say anything else while Craggy is still in the role.

The question is why is he still in the role. One would think after what he said while he was supposed to represent the brand in the best way he would be thrown through the window...

That's a good question, and I can't think of any possible answer that wouldn't also apply to Pierce in 2005. He's popular with audiences? So was Pierce. The studio would rather stick with an established Bond actor than take a chance on a new one? Then why wasn't Pierce in CR? The "Craig is sleeping with the boss"argument favoured on this forum has always seemed horribly sexist to me, but it's the only one that makes sense at this point.

Honestly,I'm not so sure that the general audience is so taken with him. He recieved such a backlash in 2005 it's hard for me to believe that audience now absolutely loves him. From what I've heard from casual movie goers the ones who like him usually say stuff like "I love these new edgy and dark Bond movies the ones I've seen before are for little kids."

As for sticking with an established Bond actor, that would hold some water if an established Bond had any star power,a certain charisma that would make people watch any movie he's in. Needless to say,it's Daniel Craig we are talking about here.

As for him sleeping with Barbara,as you said,it's the only explanation that makes sense at this point. But if those rumors I've heard about Barbara being with Timothy at the time he was Bond are true then I wonder when did Barbara lost taste in men?
