Pirates 5 sucks. Big time.
javier bardem perhaps the worst part of the movie.
I'll write a short review later but it's one to miss. Pirates 2&3 are better movies confused as they are

I liked 1 & 4, Ian mcshane awesome as blackbeard.
This last movie is like they had a dozen scripts couldn't decide so used parts of every script and the past movies.
The basic idea of Turner the next generation is sound, the rest of it falls sort. javier bardem is essentially a stereotype muttering in Spanish accent about yack sparrow.
They never explain how jack is responsible for whatever curse bardem is upset about. Story jumps around suddenly they are upset about being chased by the dead but never lay the ground work for how they know it.
Usually I praise the cast if I think they had potential or each in their own way did their best with what there was. Not this time. It was a relief to see Orlando blooming onion for his three minutes of screen time.
Jonny depp was still jack sparrow but the movie was mostly visual gags, altered plot to accommodate stunts, and very bad attempts at innuendo.

I would add it's surprise because Disney has so far kept the marvel and star wars universes on track. But can't do it for their own movies. Pirates is Russian roulette, Lone Ranger was outright suicide.
John carter I actually think was good but poorly advertised.
It's like Disney are not even trying

Witnesses have said that armed officers are understood to be at the scene after a white van mounted the pavement before driving into people. The Metropolitan Police say they are dealing with an incident on the bridge. Transport for London said the bridge has been closed in both directions due to a "major police incident". Bus routes were being diverted. BBC reporter Holly Jones, who was on the bridge at the time of the incident, said the van was driven by a man and was "probably travelling at about 50 miles an hour". About five people were being treated for injuries after the vehicle mounted the pavement and hit them, she said. She said the van, which was travelling from the direction of central London, headed towards the south side of the river. Ms Jones later reported seeing a man being arrested by police. She said he was handcuffed and had his shirt off.   The media cannot call this workplace violence :!: Image

There was a whole book, John Carter and the Gods of Hollywood, that accused Disney of sabotaging their own movie, because they were ass-deep in the Lucasfilm deal, and didn't want it to become a rival franchise to Star Wars. The book has been disputed, but it certainly sounds like a plausible theory.

Not sure about the Star Wars angle but at the time marvel was being blamed because supposedly Disney didn't want to compete with their new brand, but 2012 they probably in negotiations with Lucas .

Funny john carter is #4 on the most expensive movies ever, ignoring bat v sups and spectre

Captain, these are NOT loonies :!: These are premeditated murdering animals that want civilized cultures destroyed :!: Don't fall into this BS mindset that these derelicts are more mentally ill than smart at what they are doing.

I'm not very near London, Bristol is about 120 miles away, though it's a major city, so of course there's a worry that it could be a target. But then, there's no point living your life in fear that you could be involved in a terrorist attack. If you thought that way, you'd never leave the house.

. I hope so. I do agree they are loonies, rational people do not do this kind of thing.
In my opinion whenever you deal with believers, people who believe something no matter what it is it's hard to understand why they will do something.
Sometime it can be stuff like turning the other cheek, forgiving, helping out a stranger in need. So it's not all bad. It's just that these radical Islam nut jobs are trying to scare and hurt people in mistaken beliefs. In the most radical cases they want to cause their Mahdi to appear/force him into revealing himself and starting what most would consider the end times. Don't know how you would begin to reason with that.

I do know the British people are strong, it wasn't that long ago it was IRA randomly killing people.

After.a strong Saturday where it grossed $35.6 million from 4,156 screens, Warner Bros./DC's "Wonder Woman" is now estimated to join "Beauty and the Beast" and "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" as the third 2017 film with a $100 million-plus opening. Directed by Patty Jenkins, the film will have the highest opening for a film directed by a woman, blowing by the $85.6 million set by Sam Taylor-Johnson's "Fifty Shades of Grey."

With an estimated weekend total of $100.5 million, "Wonder Woman" will have the second-highest June opening for a WB film behind only "Man of Steel" with $128 million. It also beats out the openings for several Marvel titles including the first "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Doctor Strange," and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." If Sunday totals can push the weekend cume up to $102 million, it will match the opening set by the first "Iron Man."
