Ah DB is safe that guy is a punk too afraid to actually follow through. Guardian might lose lucrative advertising so don’t anger EON too much.
Problem is the average people seeing this trailer actually are harsher.

I do think they used CGI on Craig’s face.

The Guardian has a gofundme request on that page relating to next year's election in the USA :!: That's a UK media trying to influence the results of a foreign country :!: :!: :!: I thought that was admonished by the left-wingers? :Bonk: What a crock :!: Everything they wrote applies to the previous administration and it just shows how pathetic and moronic this trash publication really is :!: What a hypocritical joke :!:

Thanks for the concern gents, but no softy from The Guardian is ever going to unseat the king. Speaking of which that was a pretty harsh write up considering it emanated from their pages I guess the product placement fell through this time? I find it funny the author is so concerned about the inclusion of facial scars on the villains than almost anything else.

Ironically if you look closely at Waltz his are gone as I predicted in this rant. Malek has some very small almost pock marks like scaring that I can only assume he gets in the Norwegian flash back scene when his kabuki mask gets ruined.

All in all I glad to see the world waking up to the current travesty besetting Bond, of course it's all just the natural concision that a Craig helmed run would come to. It's funny reading comments on various videos and articles about this film, where posters write "Craig has only done one film, Casino Royale the rest suck." Then some wag will inevitably intone "you forgot Skyfall" to which the original poster and even a few others will respond, "no I didn't."

Changing the subject from the trailer for a moment, it has come to my attention that John Barry's score for The Black Hole has recently become available on Spotify and Amazon Music. This has been a public service announcement.

Or maybe Q branch will have the nano tech which will make his Aston Martin transform into an attack helicopter, a submarine, and later into a large heavily armored concrete bunker, and it will be the grittiest, most realistic Bond EVA. None of those ridiculous exploding pens or invisible cars. No sireee!

Although joking aside, having since watched the trailer it looks like the car is very much Goldfinger. They just moved the guns up a bit and made them bigger.

I should also say that some of the stunts in the NTTD trailer do look pretty good. The trouble is, as much as I really like them, I don't think stunts alone will make me want to sit through this, especially when knowing what I do about modern trailers, there's a fair chance those were the best ones already revealed to me. I mean, I can get both great stunts and an engaging, exciting and reasonably coherent story if I watch a Mission Impossible movie. That's my benchmark now.

Both the Mendes films had good action sequences and "trailer moments", but spoiled it with a bunch of soap operatics. I fear this will be the same, as it's what modern audiences seem to want. It doesn't look like there will be many laughs in this film (though I will confess I did chuckle at the "Bond...James Bond" bit.)

This is interesting; the Rotten Tomatoes critics' rankings for all the Bond films, including CR67 and NSNA. I thought it would be all fangirling over Craig, but in fact Goldfinger beats CR and Connery's first three all beat Skyfall: https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com/gu ... nd-movies/

Those rankings are all over the place compared to what I consider makes the best Bond movies, though I agree I would have expected all Craig's entries to be higher due to the shills. I'm shocked just how low Octopussy's ranked, although I shouldn't be surprised. I know the usual objections about gorilla suits and tarzan yells but they're only seconds long so it seems disproportionate to condemn the entire movie for that. People say the plot is hard to follow but for me that actually makes repeated viewings more interesting.

And QOS beating four of Roger's movies, three of Pierce's, and scoring equal with DAF? Give me a break!

When I'm really bored I'll have to write out all the audience rankings of them and see how that list compares. I suspect it could be a bit less biased.

That is a rather surprising list Kris. While personally Spectre is ranked far too high for me considering the damage done to cannon, it's positively shocking to see the most recent film by the " BEST BOND EVA!" to be ranked so low!

Ah but Kris you seem to not recognize the comedy gold crafted by Ms. Waller-Bridge in this cinematic masterpiece! Look at lines like "... I'll shoot you in the knee.. the one that works." and don't forget "Get it up, get it up." " I never had that problem before." Sheer hilarious poetry! :picard:

I must have too much time on my hands because here they are ranked by the Rotten Tomatoes Audience scores instead :martini: :

The general order is roughly the same although the audience generally seem a bit harsher in their scoring. The 64% for OHMSS is particularly surprising. GoldenEye jumps to fifth place as well. :)

It's funny how the best audience score is only 89% for Goldfinger. It goes to my recent realization that despite all the fanfare Bond is just not as big a phenomenon as it's made out to be. A rant explaining that statement will be coming sometime in the future.
