The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
They can’t be fired for this protest their contracts are too well written to allow for that. They can’t fire a football player for beating his girlfriend even if caught on camera. Taking a knee while unprofessional and insulting to those who have served their country, it might be argued as protected speech as kris said but I doubt it’ll hold up because we can’t start going on to our fellow workers or customers about political going ons or religion. We have the right to say they but not at work.
If they did fire some players there are plenty of backs up qualified to take their place, perhaps better players because they are younger.
NFL is basically done between concussions and the damage these players receive in games alone, this political pandering to demographics not who football fans are turning football fans away from the game.
I’ve been off the game for years because of the over regulation of very freaking play. And crappy calls by refs and constant replay rulings. I remember one very bad game 2001-02 where the broncos benefited from one ref making are least 3 bad calls that changed the game, that when I started to fade away from the sport.

On a day full of criticism from Donald Trump, political protests, linked arms, players taking a knee or not coming on the field at all during the national anthem, and renewed pleas for unity from the league, NBC and the NFL took a ratings hit on Sunday Night Football. In metered market numbers, the primetime matchup that saw the Washington Redskins beat the Oakland Raiders 27-10 snared an 11.6/20, the worst SNF has performed this season so far. It’s an 8% dip from the early numbers of last week’s game, Atlanta’s 34-23 win over Green Bay. Amid cheers and boos from fans at FedEx Field in Maryland last night, the third week of the SNF season declined 10% from early numbers of the comparable game of last year on September 25, 2016.

The Mirror reported that Crystal Hefner, Hefner's 31-year-old wife of five years, would "inherit nothing" of her late husband's wealth because of an "iron-clad prenuptial agreement," but that she would be "looked after."

Hugh Hefner is no fool, after all. Didn't fool himself to think she married him for love. He probably just liked to have pretty young thing on his arm, perhaps to make him feel younger.bjmdds wrote:The Mirror reported that Crystal Hefner, Hefner's 31-year-old wife of five years, would "inherit nothing" of her late husband's wealth because of an "iron-clad prenuptial agreement," but that she would be "looked after."

Nike sports apparel company is one of the few that did not seem to hedge by releasing a statement saying, “Nike supports athletes and their right to freedom of expression on issues that are of great importance to our society.”----------- NIKE I won't buy any of their products now ---------------Members of USAA, an insurance company that caters to members of the military, are organizing to demand that the insurance company drop its sponsorship of the NFL and the company’s community message board section on its website is deluged with demands that USAA dump the NFL.
