Saw The World's End today-not only was Rosamund Pike in it, but so was Pierce Brosnan!
Good movie, up until about the last 20 minutes. 6 out of 10.

THAT would be great. What they did with Ben Ex-Lax is a joke.FormerBondFan wrote:It would be interesting to see Cavill and Bale team up.

Who is this? I never heard of him but he would be a MUCH better selection than Ben Ex-Lax.James wrote:Affleck would actually be a better choice to direct the Justice League film than Snyder I think. Regarding the new Batman, Nolan apparently recommended Wes Bentley for the part.Dr. No wrote:Nothing against BA he'd be better suited as the director. Was on the fence then I remembered DD IMO at times he has a almost whiny voice that Batman shouldn't have.

Plus, Affleck is too old to team up alongside with Henry. I don't know about you, but the way I see this is that the actor playing Batman should be no more than 10 years older than the actor playing Superman. Christian is 9 years older than Henry, and he doesn't look 40. If you want an older Bat, Christian is the one. Otherwise, make the the Dark Knight/billionaire playboy younger to match Clark Kent's age.bjmdds wrote:THAT would be great. Correct wise sage. You know your onions on these castings decisions. Bale belongs doing this film. Period. I wonder what Ale thinks about polluting her protege Cavill's next Superman film with the likes of Ben Ex-Lax as Bat Man?

Interesting that Christian Bale refuses to do anymore Batman and wants to move on. Unlike Craig who realises his non-Bond career is dead so is not going to get off his Bond gravy train for another 20 years.

Terrible. Aflek is a similar choice to Clooney as Batman.FormerBondFan wrote:I wonder what Sweenster thinks about Batfleck.
I hated MoS, and I'm guessing we are in for more of the same with this next piece of trash, coupled with an imposter Batman.
Bale is the definitive Batman, and Nolan's series is the definitive Batman films for me. Had Nolan been chosen as director, I may have been more interested.

Correct again Sweeney. If you know it, and we here all know it, and the internet polling knows it, what the heck is the studio thinking? Utter stupidity This was bad enough as a preview of this jackass as a superhero: http://nerdreactor.com/wp-content/uploa ... -suit.jpeg

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Ben Affleck just got a very important geek endorsement as Batman -- director Joss Whedon.
The Avengers and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. director entered into the heated Batman discussion on Friday night.
Whedon Tweeted, "Affleck'll crush it. He's got the chops, he's got the chin. -- just needs the material."
"Affleck and (Henry) Cavill toe to toe -- I'm in," Whedon added.
The super-Tweet came in the midst of heavy online criticism about the decision that Affleck would play Batman alongside Cavill in the Batman-Superman movie to be released July 17, 2015.
Warner Bros clearly was not expecting a massive Internet backlash when they made the announcement late Thursday.
"Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry's Superman," director Zack Snyder said in a statement Thursday. "He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retains the charms that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can't wait to work with him."
The news has provoked a firestorm and a Twitter hashtag #BetterBatmanThanBenAffleck overwhelmed the Web on Friday.

http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2013/08/23/ ... emove-him/ It looks like Affleck has started a firestorm of outrage and we might have a sister website soon to copy our anti-Cr-egg outrage. Affleck must feel mighty good about himself now. Whedon is another moron applauding this move and even stating Affleck will bring his Daredevil and Gigli skills to the role Is Whedon smoking crack? "Ben Affleck:
You should all be asking yourself "WHY AM I CONCERNED WITH A MOVIE MORE THAN I AM CONCERNED WITH REAL LIFE PROBLEMS?" He actually wrote a comment to the vicious outrage against him. Unreal.

Jim Caviezel should be Batman. He already does it every week for Person Of Interest.I don't consider this anything like Craig's getting Bond this is a bunch of Hollywood jerks giving their buddy a job because they want to work with him.Where Craig was a nobody who caught one womans eye for all thats wrong with him he wasn't a celebrity get.

Where is Cavill's main backer Ale to weigh in on this mess of a choice for Henry's next film?

He is a moron anyone read his crazy socialist rating last year?poor billion dollar baby doesn't like capitalism.I doubt he would hire affleck to play Captain America,Captain Reynolds, just about anything so why should fans bend over taking it from the studios.Hollywood lining up to defend their buddy like they do after Alec Baldwin goes on a nuts makes it worse because its the very elite telling us in the minimum wage world not to question their decision and the friends want to they hire.MoS 2 was bad enough now this!bjmdds wrote:http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2013/08/23/ ... emove-him/ It looks like Affleck has started a firestorm of outrage and we might have a sister website soon to copy our anti-Cr-egg outrage. Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Correct O. Hollywood screwed the masses again Broccoli and these artsy directors are clueless about adventure films and superhero stories. As a kid they probably never watched the shows nor read the comic books like most of us did, to get the proper foundation to be able to realize what works and what doesn't. Look at what Ang Lee did to mutilate the Hulk's storyline. I wonder if Broccoli still has that shirtless picture of Danielle hanging over her bed at night, alongside her own likeness, since she loves herself so much.

I enjoyed Man of Steel and don't have a problem with Ben Affleck, although like others have said I would have preferred another actor maybe a lesser known young actor.
Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
To be honest, I'm far more upset by the announcement that Zack Snyder is directing than I am about the casting of Affleck. I think Affleck is a little old for Batman, but the thought of him in the role doesn't fill me with dread the way the prospect of another Zack Snyder film does.

Affleck and Cavill teaming up seems pretty weird. I think that's probably because Affleck is little too old. Christian Bale is older as well, but he looks young enough to be around Cavill's age.

Paul Dini (who knows a lot more about Batman than the up in arms nerds venting their spleen on message boards) was asked at Comic Con a few years ago who he would cast as Batman in a reboot when Bale departed and he said he would cast Ben Affleck.

My choice for the new Batman though would probably have been Karl Urban.
